"I heard this level is the hardest to complete." Brian said.
"Not with the two of us playing. I can't think of a better video game duo." Hudson replied.
We were all sitting around Anthony's and Brian's living room. Brian and Hudson were playing a video game and Anthony was giving them strategies. Ava and Kathrine were huddled close to each other on the couch looking at homecoming dresses. I was cuddled into Danny's side, playing with the tear in his jeans and Danny had his arm secured tightly around me.
"Paxton?" Kathrine asked as she looked up from her phone.
"Yeah?" I lifted my head from Danny's side.
"Have you decided on going to homecoming yet?" She asked.
"Oh, I don't know. It's really not my thing."
"So you're just going to make your lovely boyfriend attend homecoming all by himself?" Ava said.
I looked up at Danny, "Are you going?"
Danny nodded his head.
"Do you want me to come?"
"Only if you're comfortable coming." Danny squeezed my arm.
"Seriously? You finally have someone you can formally ask to homecoming and you aren't going to?" Kathrine questioned in disbelief.
"I don't think a big homecoming proposal is either of our styles, Kathrine." Danny said.
"Definitely not." I agreed.
"Ugh, fine, but you at least have to go, Paxton. I promise you it'll be fun." She said.
I thought it over for a second before nodding, "Okay, fine, I'll go."
"Yay! What colors are you two going to wear?"
"Colors?" I asked.
"Well, yeah. You have to match colors if you're going together." Kathrine explained.
"Well, I don't even have a suit to be honest. I've never needed one before." I confessed.
"That's perfect! You can come to the mall with Ava and me to get a suit when we go pick out dresses."
I looked back down at the tear in Danny's jeans, "Well, actually—."
"You can just wear one of my suits. I have a navy colored one that you'll look good in." Danny interrupted me.
I blushed a little and smiled gratefully at Danny. He knew I didn't have the money to go buy a brand new suit for homecoming and he saved me from having to tell everyone else that.
"What color are you going to wear then Danny?" Ava asked.
"I'm thinking my dark gray one." He answered.
Kathrine squealed, "Yes! Navy and gray are going to look so good together."
"I didn't know color coordination was such a big deal." I admitted.
"Only the girls think it's a big deal, but it's really not." Anthony said with his eyes still glued to the television.
"Color matching is everything if you're going to homecoming with someone. Otherwise it would look like you aren't there with anyone." Kathrine explained.
"It doesn't matter." Anthony said back simply.
"Whatever, you wouldn't get it anyway. Oh, maybe I should go bold this year. What do you think about bright red, Ava?" Everyone drifted off back into their own conversations and I once again snuggled up into Danny's side. He played with my hair and we spent the rest of the night just hanging with our friends.
