Ch-16 - Apologize

"I think we should try it." Joey said. "Wait, really?!" Jacob asked, unable to conceal his happiness.

"I mean, I've also had a large crush on you for a few weeks. You're so protecting and caring, it doesn't go unnoticed by me."

At this point, Jacob hugged Joey and kissed him on the cheek.

"What do you want Rebecca?" Sophie asked, bored. "And what do you have to do with my friends being gay? Falling in love isn't a sin." "I never said falling in love is a sin!"

"You think of yourself so highly, huh" "Hah! Get out of here! You don't belong in this school." "Like hell I'll listen to you and follow you." "Speak of yourself! You think you have talent? Please, you have no life." "And you sold yours."

"How dare you!" "Yes, we both know that you're the one who isn't performing a show, at least I am trying."

"And it will be a flop! You think you're better than me? No! You are just a cat who takes away all the love, leaving the dog to get ignored! You and your friends are all cats!" Sophie was dumbfounded by this.

"Quit the act Rebec-" before Charlotte could complete the sentence, Rebecca ran away crying. "Wow, what a drama queen." Charlotte said.

"No." Sophie said. "No?" "I need to talk to Joey." "What?" Just let me talk to h-" "Hey, we're back." Jacob said.

"Joey, I need to talk to you." "What's wrong, Sophie?" Joey asked, concerned. "Who was the best in the literally club before me?" Sophie asked. Joey went quite for a moment.

"Rebecca."

Rebecca was walking through the streets, tears running down her eyes.

'How dare she stand where I stood. Just because her father is a poet, doesn't makes her a writer. I used to be the queen of literature. And now..." Another pair of tear left her eyes.

"I wish she never came in this school!" She screamed and ran towards her home, crying.

"I need to apologize to Rebecca." Sophie simply stated. "What? She should be the one to apologize to you, not vise versa." Jacob said.

"Y'all didn't understand, let me explain." Sophie said. "But first, do we have space for another person in our group?" She asked. "I mean, the more the better." Suzie said.

"Great! So the explanation... I think Rebecca might be jealous of me. After I came, I became the literally star, and Rebecca came second in everything. She might have been bullying me to stop me from writing, so she can re gain her position!" Sophie explained.

"Okay, that's reasonable, but how is you asking to let someone in our group relayed to Rebecca?" Charlotte asked. "Good question. I might let Rebecca in our group if she wants." Sophie said.

"What?!" Joey said. "Are you crazy?" Jacob asked 'Are you serious?!" Charlotte exclaimed. Suzie remained quiet.

"Maybe I am crazy? And yes, I'm serious. I think she deserves a chance. Come on guys, please?" Sophie pleaded. "I guess we can give her a chance.." Suzie said.

"Come on Char, Jo and Jacob. How long will you keep disliking her? Give her a chance.." Sophie tried to make them understand. "Fine, but I have a bad feeling about this." Charlotte clearly stated and Joey and Jacob nodded.

"I'll go find her. Cya y'all!" Sophie said and went searching for Rebecca.

Rebecca was sitting near the school fountain with her eyes closed, when..

"Rebecca, I need to talk to you.." Sophie said. "What do you want now? Wanna insult me? Go ahead. I don't care." Rebecca said. "I just want to talk. Mind if I sit?" Sophie asked.

Rebecca shifted a bit, letting Sophie sit. "So, what do you want to talk about?" Rebecca asked. "About you." "Me?" "Yes, I'm sorry..." Sophie said.

"...why are you sorry..? I should be the one who should be the one saying sorry.. I've been a retarded person.." Rebecca said regretfully. "Well, I couldn't agree more, but-" "I'm trying to be generous Sophie. If you don't like me being generous just tell me."

"I didn't mean it like that! Oh my. I'm sorry if you think I replaced you from your top position in the literally club. I truly didn't even know that you were first! I'm so sorry, but unfortunately, I cannot do anything about it.." Sophie apologized.

"How did you know that I was jealous of you for your position?" Rebecca asked. "I kinda figured it out..and I'm also sorry for all the mean things I said. I guess I was just mad at you for locking me in the washroom." Sophie said.

"Yea, that was dumb of me." Rebecca said. "I have an offer for you.." Sophie said. "Uh, what is it?" Rebecca asked, confused. "Will you join us for our performance? The Halloween talent show?" Sophie asked.

"I think I..."
