Chapter 5

***Jake***

We enter the bar and take a seat farthest from the drunks. I hear so many songs, from angry and sad to happy and bright. Anne smiles as she watches the people sing karaoke on stage. We order some drinks and enjoy the entertainment. After a while Anne goes up on stage and begins to sing her song. Many guys gathered infront, fighting to get her attention. If only they knew what would really capture her heart.

The gnashing teeth and criminal tongues conspire against the odds

When she finishes she comes over laughing. "You gotta do it big bro. It's so fun!"
I take a sip of my drink. "You know I don't really sing."
She sticks her tongue out at me and I laugh.

***Rae***
"So how was your day?"
I take a sip of my drink and smile. "It was okay I guess. Your sister is overreacting about this killer though."
"Yeah. She wants me to put a security system around your house. She said weather you want it or not." We laugh and talk a bit more as we watch people sing. This one girl got up and sang. She had black hair, green eyes, and a figure I'd kill for. So many guys were trying to get her number or even her name and she just ignored them as she went to the back of the room. The table she stopped at had a guy there. I didn't see him well but I assume they came together.
"Rae?" I snap out of my thoughts and look at Adam.
"I'm sorry. What'd you say?"
"They are doing last call for karaoke."
I think back to what Mrs. Dhar said. I take a deep breath and go on stage. I look around and see the girl and guy leave as the song starts.
