The Melody

Chapter 16

                      **Rae**
  Its been two months since we got here. I am homesick and think of Jill.
  "Hello firefly" Jake comes in and kisses my forehead. I smile faintly and he notices. "What's wrong?"
  I wipe my eyes. "I miss home. When can we go back?"
  He thinks for a bit. "Let me go get a few things in town and I'll call my sister to see how things are. Alright?"
  I nod and kiss him. He smiles and wraps his arms around my waist. 
  "Don't let anyone in and dont leave. Its full of hunter traps out here. I'll be back soon." After that, he grabs the keys and kisses my cheek before closing the door and locking it.
  I look around and smile. This place was really beautiful. Except for the creepy rooms below. The time I've been here has been great, especially now that I see what Jake does. I never knew we had songs to connect each other, its beautiful. I go into the livingroom and sit down, laying back and watching tv. Again, i saw my face plastered across the screen. 
  "The last known location of Rae Carrigan was her home, two months ago before a man kidnapped her. We have witnesses claiming the suspect has dark hair, stands around six foot, and goes by the name of Jake. If there's anything that could help lead police to finding Rae Carrigan, call your local police department. I'm Jessica Baker, news three at five."
  I see Jill in the background,  she looks terrible. Guilt eats me from the inside.
  A loud crash echoes from the kitchen. "Jake?" I get up and head to the kitchen. The backdoor was open and the window was smashed. I walk closer and the atmosphere changes. An angry sing starts to play, a large hand covers my mouth just as a large body presses against me.
  "Not a fucking word or I'll slit your throat." A gruff voice says into my ear. "You understand me bitch? "
  I nod and look around. I see the knives a few feet away and adrenaline starts pumping through me. I take a deep breath before i slam my head against his face and make a run for the knives.
