The Melody

Chapter 6

***Jake***

After a while they start doing last calls for karaoke. One last singer steps up.
"Come on Anne. We gotta get home." She nods and I feel the girl on stage looking at me as we head to the door.
"I'm a ghost in your eyes...."
I freeze where I stood, my heart beating rapidly. Anne looks at me in surprise and smiles. I look at the girl on stage again. Her hair seemed as if it was fire itself. Her eyes glowed green, much like mine, yet so different. I slowly make my way to the stage and watch her singing my song. OUR song. Eventhough she's singing I can hear it from within her heart.
"I have a thought of you for every, star in the sky.
But I'm scared, I'll never cross your mind.
Yeah I'm scared...."
I get up on stage and begin to sing with her.
"Will our stars ever align?
Will two hearts beat in time?
These words you should always remember.
To you my heart I surrender.
She looks at me in shock but we continue to sing till the end. After that I stare into her as as she does mine.
"I'm Jake."
"I-"
A guy appears next to her, catching me off guard.
"They're closing soon. We should get you home." She nods as she begins to walk away the guy slinging his arm over her shoulder. I'm left standing on the empty stage as Anne gets to my side.
"It was her?"
Anger boils my blood as I try to restrain myself from going after him. "She's with him." I clench my fists and breathe heavily through my nose.
"She will understand that you two are meant to be. Give it time brother."
I look at the door and run outside n hoping to find them. No one else remained in the parking lot. "DAMN IT!!" I punch the wall and sigh. "She was right there!" I calm down a bit. "She was so beautiful...... I have to find her."
