The Melody

Chapter 14

                      **Jake**
  She's finally mine. It hurt like hell to hear her screams of pain, but it had to be done. I look at her unconscious body, my heart beating faster as I see her beginning to wake. "Firefly?"
  
                        **Rae**
  'W-where am I? Why do I feel all tingly?'
  I try to shield my eyes from the light, but I can't move my arms so I turn my face away.
  "Firefly?"
  I turn and see Jake.
  '~I'm a ghost in your eyes~'
  The song.... its true.
  "I see it Jake. I can hear it."
  He smiles at me and unties me. "I knew you would firefly. How are you feeling?"
  I smile and feel my face. "I feel great." I look at him and smile.
  He smiles more and helps me up, I take a step and fall into his arms. My face turns bright red. "I-I'm sorry."
  He kisses my cheek and whispers in my ear. "It's alright my dear." I straighten up and he wraps an arm around me just as my stomach growls.  "Hungry?" I nod.
  "I haven't eaten since the cafe."
  "Then let's get you something to eat." He walks me back to the main house and sits me at the island. "So what does my love wish to eat?"
  "I think for a second and my eyes light up. "Let's do steak n mashed potatoes!"
  "Alright firefly. How do you like your steak? And you want gravy with them?"
  "Medium rare and no. Gravy isn't good with homemade mashed potatoes n I intend to do that. You got the steaks." I tie up my hair n put my hands on my hips.
  He smiles and walks over, wrapping his arms around me. "That sounds perfect. I'll get everything set up." He kisses my cheek and we get going on the food.
