Chapter 9 - Sick

The next morning, Y/n was on her way to the school since Tsukishima left for morning practice again. 

She dragged her feet on the pavement, feeling a little dizzy and her eyes feeling heavy. She reached the school gate to see Hinata and walked towards him.

"Hey! Hinata!" she waved at him, grabbing his attention.

He smiled ran towards her.

"Hey Y/n!" His smile turned into a frown. "What happened to you? You don't look so good." he asked, concerned.

"I guess I'm just a little tired." she shrugged it off and smiled. 

"Why aren't you here earlier for the morning practice?"

"I got up a little late today." He said nervously and scratched his head.

She chuckled and nodded, patting his head before waving at him again as she walked away.

"I'll see you later then." He nodded.

Y/n managed to look normal for the first few classes, but suddenly her energy drained and she rested her head on her arms that were placed on the table. She thought to rest her eyes for a little while but was fast asleep instead.

Yamaguchi looked at Tsukishima worriedly and gulped.

"Hey, Tsukki...Do you think she's ok?"

"She was probably awake last night. Not a big deal" He shrugged before thinking.

'I did check on her and she was asleep last night though.'

The next class has begun and she was still in the same position, not moving an inch. Yamaguchi's face tensed up and Tsukishima couldn't help but sigh at him.

After the class ended, Tsukishima stood up and walked towards her, shaking her by her shoulder.

"Enough now, sleepyhead. Wake up."

He moved the strand of her away from her face and was surprised to see her more pale than usual. His eyes widened as he touched her cheek, surprised to see her warming up.

"Yamaguchi, I'm taking her to the nurse." He told as he carried her bridal style, rushing out of the class.

He placed her on the bed after reaching the nurse's room and she checked on her.

"Just a mild fever. Nothing to worry about." The nurse assured with a smile while he nodded.

"She didn't respond to me earlier." He stated.

"Probably she's too weak to answer. Give her a few hours, she'll feel better. I'll take care of her."

Tsukishima thanked her and looked at Y/n before walking out of the nurse's room, sliding his back on the wall after walking out of the room. Not long after, he saw Yamaguchi running towards him.

"Tsukki. What happened?" He asked.

"She said it was a mild fever."

"Will she be okay?" He asked and Tsukishima nodded.

"Let's go. We still have classes." He said and started walking, while Yamaguchi followed.

Later that day after school, Yamaguchi showed up for the volleyball practice in the gym and the coach looked at him.

"Where's Tsukishima, Yamaguchi?" he asked.

"Tsukki told that he'll come for the practice after dropping Y/n home. She's got a fever." He answered, getting Hinata's attention.

"I thought she didn't look good this morning." Hinata told as he passed the ball to Kageyama.

The coach nodded and blew the whistle, ordering everyone to start the practice.
