Chapter 12 - Akiteru

"What happened?" Tsikishima sighed, placing his and Y/n's bag on the floor.

"I found Ichi-chan." He said excitedly and Tsukishima's eyes widened.

"What?" Tsukishima asked in disbelief.

"She's a little bruised up since I rescued her but..at least.." Akiteru traced off as he looked down.

"Where is she??" Tsukishima asked, having a feeling it might be Y/n.

"Upstairs in my roo-" 

Before Akiteru could complete his sentence, Tsukishima ran upstairs and opened the door to Akiteru's room, to see a dimly lit room but recognized the person on the bed.

"Y/n.." Tsukishima entered the room and kneeled down beside Y/n, looking at her bruised up arm and face. He let out a big sigh of relief, feeling the heavy load on his chest get off.

"Kei?" Akiteru looks confused at Tsukishima and Tsukishima looked at him while holding Y/n's hand.

"Is she sleeping?"

"She was troubled so mother gave her some sleeping pills to help her sleep for now."

Tsukishima stood up and looked at his brother.

"Thank you for saving her..." He smiled.

"Wait, you know about her?" Akiteru's smile turned into a frown.

"Nii-san... that's Y/n." 

"Y/n? Where's Ichi-chan?" 

Tsukishima explained everything that happened and Akiteru was in disbelief, looking down.

"I see...she's no more..huh?" He teared up.

Tsukishima nods. "Y/n wanted to tell you and mom for a long time but she didn't know how to. She also blamed herself since she remembering promising you to take care of her sister."

Akiteru nodded and wiped his tears, looking at Y/n with a smile.

"I did, but she had to go through hell...all by herself. It's so unfair." Akiteru sighed and then looked at Tsukishima. 

"Go rest up, I'll take care of her tonight. You had an intense practice earlier so it's natural you're tired."

"Nii-san. Please let me stay with her. I won't be able to sleep either way knowing she's like this." Tsukishima said and smiled as he nodded, walking out and closing the door behind him.

Tsukishima knelt beside her and held her hand, caressing her cheek with his free hand. He then moved to place his forehead on hers.

"You idiot. You always worry me. Stop doing that." He whispered as he closed his eyes, smiling a little, his fingers lightly caressing her cheeks.

The next morning, Tsukishima woke up to find her face close to his, while he sat on the floor. He realized he might have crashed since he was tired.

He rubbed his face and stood up before looking at her, leaning in slowly to kiss her forehead before heading downstairs where his mother was already in the kitchen and Akiteru left for college.

"Mom. I need to talk to you about something." 

He told and his mother looked at him a little confused but listened anyway. He told everything about Y/n and how he actually lived with her because she was scared of being alone and how she struggled to want to tell her and Akiteru everything. 

At the end, his mother gasped as she covered her mouth with her hand. 

"She went through a lot... I'm surprised that she's so mentally strong."

"She really is." He smiled and smiled.

"What happened last night.. when she came over?" He asked.

"She seemed to be in some kind of trauma since she didn't answer any questions we asked her. We initially assumed she was Ikaichi since...she looked like Ikaichi when she was in high school. so I gave her some pills to make her sleep. Akiteru told that he was on his way home when he heard a scream and followed that to find her and a creepy man who was trying to get her in a car. He called the cops before running over to her, helping her out after pushing him away." she sighed and Tsukishima nodded, still blaming himself for everything that happened.

"Kei?" He heard Y/n's loud voice from upstairs and quickly rushed over to her, seeing her sitting on the bed and looking at him. He ran to her and hugged her tight while she just let him, not moving since he unexpectedly hugged her.

"After what happened last night, you still search for the first thing when you wake up?" He teased and scoffed playfully.

"You told you'll be here for me no matter what. You told you'll protect me, didn't you?" she said innocently.

He let out a pleasant hum and nodded before smiling.

"I'm sorry about last night." He caressed her head. "I'll never let you out of my sight now. Never." he told and hugged her a little tighter.

She just nodded and looked up at him. "Let's go home."

He nodded and helped her stand, holding both of their bags and walked downstairs. His mother looked at them, telling Y/n she could come over for dinner anytime, to which Y/n nodded.

After reaching her home, they freshened up and took a shower before getting ready for school.

Y/n wore a long-sleeved shirt to hide her bruised arm and covered the bruises on her face with some makeup.

They both walked together to school and Yamaguchi was waiting by the school gate, smiling when he spotted them.

"Hey Tsukki! Hey Y/n!" He greeted them while they greeted back.

They walked towards the class when Yamaguchi looked at Tsukishima.

"What happened to you last night? You were mad." He asked a little concerned while Tsukishima shrugged.

"Just had a bad day." He said as they entered the class.

After they sat on their seats, Mio walked over to Tsukishima and looked at him.

"Hey.. I needed your help. You know we got a math quiz coming up and I needed help in that since I'm bad in math." she said.

Tsukishima looked at Y/n and Y/n just shook her head.

"I'm bad at math too." she admitted.

Tsukishima sighed and looked at Mio.

"What's in it for me?" He asked her.

"Well, why won't you?"

"Because I don't want to?" He rolled his eyes.

Y/n frowned at Tsukishima. "Yes, you will help her. All she's asking for you to do is to help her learn."

"Again, what's in it for me?" He huffed.

"If you mean I should pay you.." Mio started.

"If I said yes, will you?" He smirked and she nodded. He didn't expect that she'd agree to it and huffed as he looked away.

"Fine. I'll help you out. I'm not interested in getting paid either." He grunted.

Mio happily smiled and tackle hugged him. "Thank you!!" she squeaked while Tsukishima flinched.

Yamaguchi and Y/n stared at her and blinked. Mio pulled away and went to her seat before everyone went back to studying since the teacher entered.

Y/n looked at Mio for some time, thinking about her hugging Tsukishima, while Tsukishima thought about the same thing while glancing at Mio.
