It was early the next morning and Maya woke up to a huge noise.
Of course she knew it was something outside but it still made her jump up.
Being missing for 19 years it makes you not just vulnerable but also very weary of any noises outside which she was right now frightened of.
She exhales as she pulls a jacket over her shoulder as she went to the front finding Josh busy preparing food.

"Good morning. Slept well?" Josh asked.
"Yeah, thanks. What was that noise?" Maya asked.
"Gunshot," Josh said and Maya looked at him.
"What? By now you must be used to stuff like that. You were kept hostage for almost twenty years," Josh said and Maya exhaled.
"Not actually. Not something you get used to," Maya said and exhaled.
"You seem scared. Got a fright?" Josh asked and Maya nod as he handed her a cup of coffee.
"A bit. Don't know why but I'm suddenly more scared then when they had me," Maya said as she took a sip of coffee.
"Yeah. How are you felejng about being reunited with your family?" Josh asked.
"I don't even remember them. The only thing I practically remember is that for the last 20 years I've been held hostage by people who's had no desire in doing anything but sell children. So I don't know how I feel about getting back together with them," Maya said as Josh put a plate in front of her.
"Eat up then we'll go report you found," Josh said and Maya nod.
