The morning sun shone through the window as Ren sat up and stretched. She had been on high alert, and wearing Dazai's dress shirt felt weird. Already fully awake, she grabbed her clothes and had a look around the house, cleaning up as if she were never there. Dazai walked in, also ready, and seemed a bit surprised when he saw her.
"Good morning Aiko-chan! Have you had anything to eat?" He said in his usual tone.
"I'll take an apple if you don't mind." She smiled.
If she were an amateur assassin, or one that would've wanted to get the job done quickly, she probably would have killed me already or at least attempted to, but she hasn't. So she's either truly an innocent civilian, someone playing for the long game or someone with ulterior motives. But there's nothing particularly strange happening at the moment and she hasn't done anything to make me actively suspect her, but I'll see how she acts today and decide whether or not I should trust her.
They made their way over to the office. He watched her smile at the small details and he found himself watching and sometimes smiling without realising it.
Ren walked into the office with Dazai and Atsushi immediately came rushing up to her.
"Suzuki-san! Are you alright? Did Dazai-san do anything to you?" He panicked, clutching her shoulders.
"I'm fine, Atsushi-san, don't worry. Dazai-san didn't do anything to me."
Thankfully or else I would have been ready to murder him.
Dazai nodded proudly and started teasing Kunikida like he usually did, and Atsushi breathed a sigh of relief, going back to his work. Ren sat down and made sure no one was watching, then she checked her messages
Ren
I never want to wear a dress shirt again.Chuuya
Ok? Was it the whole 'I wore an oversized shirt' thingRen
Yeah. And he seemed embarrassed...Chuuya
...does he like you?Ren
I don't want to jump to conclusions but I have a suspicion. I'll try to finish this quickly.Chuuya
Sure
Don't rush it too muchShe looked up from her phone suddenly.
"Um... roughly how long will I be staying with Dazai-san?"
"About a week or two. We want to guarantee your safety." Kunikida said without looking up from his notebook, scribbling down something.
"Ok that's good. I'm taking a trip to visit my family in Kyoto in a week, so I think I will be alright after then. Thank you in advance." She said politely and picked up a book that was lying around.
"Oh, so that's where your accent came from." Everyone seemed a bit surprised, but they nodded and continued working.
Ren made sure she had photos of her 'family' and information about them if anyone asked, and she began reading to keep herself occupied, while also studying the behaviour of the Armed Detective Agency and listening to their conversations.
She stretched after reading the final chapter of A Melancholy Faction and stood up, but heard the earsplitting sound of gunshots piercing through the door, ringing through the air. She raced to the back of the offices as people dressed in black suits as well as a few others, The Black Lizard, came storming into the office guns blazing. Hirotsu, Gin and Tachihara marched in, and everyone sighed, as if it was just a minor annoyance.
