Looking through her closet, Ren carefully chose out a jacket and a pair of suit pants that she usually wore when she went out to look business casual. Sighing heavily, she quickly put her hair into a messy bun and put on a different mask before she began to head out the door.
Fuck you Chuuya for making me do this. You're supposed to convince this establishment to join but I still owe you, so here we are...
She didn't look as bad as she thought she did, and looked relatively normal.
Scanning her card, Ren tried not to touch anybody on the crowded train, tensing up whenever someone was close to her. She had her dagger concealed somewhere in case someone tried to attack her, and she was so close to reaching it so many times.
I'm so paranoid. But if there's anyone here who wants to attack me, come at me, bitch.
The ride was mostly silent, but even the slightest noise made her focus. As she stepped off the train, she made sure nobody was following her, and started walking over to the cafe where Chuuya said she'd have to make a cafe join with the Port Mafia.
The cafe was slightly small but it seemed extremely spacious, and had a calming atmosphere. There were a few potted plants hanging from the ceiling and everything looked decent and quite Western. There were a few people sitting down eating, and someone behind the counter saw Ren and waved to her.
"Hello! Follow me and I'll take you to your seat." Smiling awkwardly, Ren followed him outside where she sat down at a small table made for two people.
"I have come to convince you to join our organisation." She said in a monotonous yet curt tone.
Slightly surprised at her voice, he nodded quickly.
"I'm sorry, we're not really looking to-"
"Then we'll have the Black Lizard come and raze down your establishment. What do you say?" She turned to him.
"Uh... ok... I'll get you a coffee. I'll be back in a little bit." She usually had to use that tone and threaten people in order to convince them, but it still worked.
Sitting idly on her phone for a while, Ren yawned and looked up, gazing at her surroundings, before looking back down and sighing. It was an unwelcome coincidence, but she'd have to deal with it anyway.
"Ren!" She heard someone call out in the distance. "Ren, can you hear me?" The person waved their hand in front of her face.
"The worst person at the worst time. What are you doing here, Dazai-san?" She looked at him, irritated.
"No need for an honorific, but I saw you and thought it'd be polite to say hello. Now wouldn't it be nice if we had a little chat? Also you look good in that outfit, though you don't have as much natural flair as I do."
Why do I care for him...?
"That's not the point. We're enemies. Why are you suggesting it, though I assume there's something you want to tell me, in which case, please summarise it to 20 words or less."
"Tsk, so demanding. Ok, I'll do as you say, but you'll have to let me sit with you." He slid into the seat opposite her, and she looked up and rested her head in her hands, waiting for what he had to say.
Dazai studied Ren for a bit.
Her outfit isn't something she would usually wear, and she isn't the type of person to risk coming to a place like this for leisure. She probably owes somebody, most likely Chuuya, who coerced her into going here for work, according to her personality. And she's most likely figuring out my intentions as we sit here.
