You cracked a shy smile at 2D as you settled on the couch, leaving a gap between your body and his. 2D's stomach churned a bit as he pondered your reason for being so far away, but his attention was stolen away by a lightsaber fight on screen.

"Wow," he remarked, "how did they make the light sabers for that? Are they really made of light?"

You chuckled, "It's all just special effects, you know. I don't think they would actually make deadly weapons just for a movie."

2D sighed, disappointed that he would never get to wield such a vibrant sword , but a death star on screen retrieved him from his sorrows.

"Wot is that?" he exclaimed.

Your lips curled into a smile, this time revealing your teeth.

"We literally just saw that a few minutes ago. It's a death star."

"Oh, yeah."

2D continued the pattern of making silly remarks for the rest of the movie, eventually melting away your stiffness. It was only when He draped his arm over the length of the couch that you realized you had closed the gap you created. Despite your will to keep things strictly platonic, you had no desire to scooch away again. Somehow, you had made it halfway through the second to last movie, so it wouldn't be stuck like this for much longer anyway. More importantly, you were getting drowsy, and you were was quite comfortable as you were. Your eyes darted to the clock on the oven.

8:30

You yawned, stretching out your legs, and smoothed out the blanket.

"Getting tired, luv?" 2D questioned through a yawn of his own. He stretched his gangly arms above his head before replacing one back on your side of the sofa.

"A little," you nodded, "but we might as well finish the rest of the series. I think there's only one more movie left. I mean- if you don't want to-"

"No no, I want to. I really like doing this wif you."

You blushed, and in spite of your previous efforts, you let yourself savor the moment a little longer than before.

"Yeah, me too."

You rubbed your eyes and brought your legs to your chest, resting your chin atop your knees. As you watched the violent clashes unfold on tv, you felt a comforting dreariness underneath three layers of comfort: your sweater, your blanket, and the sweet smell of butterscotch.

Your eyelids were becoming quite heavy now, and the darkness of shutting them seemed more enticing than the flashes of color on screen. However, you still managed to maintain a slight bit of consciousness. As much as you wanted to just drift off into dreamland, sitting beside 2D right now seemed almost like a fantasy in itself. His presence gave you butterflies and comforted you at the same time.    Your heart skipped a beat every time he shifted a bit closer into you, but otherwise, your pulse remained unusually calm. Maybe it was his amused gasps at the dialogue or how he would bounce his foot excitedly during the action scenes, but his eccentricities made him seem more genuine to you, a refreshing contrast from the many tryhards you have dated in your time.

You expected taking a whole day off of work to be stressful, finding yourself preoccupied with all your projects, but somehow, spending your time with 2D helped you enjoy the moment. There was much to question about the blue haired, black eyed weirdo, but the strangest thing about him was how endearing he was.

You stole another glimpse at 2D as you felt yourself losing your grip on lucidity. His eyes were wide open, the frames of the movie reflecting off their dark expanse. Suddenly, they shot back to you.

"(Y/n), are you sure you wanna watch the last movie?"

You blinked a couple times, trying to wake yourself up enough to respond. "Uh- what do you mean?"

"Well, this ones over, isn't it?" he stated, pointing to the credits rolling on screen. Your "quick glimpse" must have been longer than you thought. "So do you want keep going? We can if you want, it's just that you seem a little tired."

"No, it's fine. I think I can last another two hours," you lied.

"Okay then," 2D muttered as he got up to put in the final disk. The couch went cold in his absence, causing you to wrap yourself tighter in your blanket. For such a thin man, he put out a lot of body heat. You observed him fiddle with the buttons of the DVD player for a few seconds before he finally figured it out. As the intro to the movie played, he launched himself back into his seat, causing the sofa to lurch a few inches backward.

"Sorry," he clucked, craning his neck back to see  if he had caused any damage.

"It's no big deal," you assured, "nothing's broken."

"Well fhat's a relief, then," he commented before nestling himself back into the blankets. He was a lot closer to you now, enough for you to listen to his heartbeat and feel the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed. You leaned yourself ever so slightly against his body, tilting your head enough for it to rest against his shoulder. Through your half shut eyes, you saw 2D look down at you warmly, a flustered smile on his face.

Unlike the many movies before, 2D's commentary was a scarcity during the final film.  He would let out the occasional yelp, but he was either too tired or too interested to say much more. And as much as you enjoyed listening to his reactions, you were perfectly content with listening to his breathing and the faint hum of the television as you dozed off.

"(Y/n)?" 2D whispered as the ending credits played, "Are you asleep? (y/n)? Hello?"

The only response was deep sigh as your body wilted against him. 2D scratched his head, wondering how to proceed. He didn't want to wake you up, but he also didn't want you to wake up with a crick in your neck from sleeping on the couch. He tossed ideas back and forth in his head as he watched the list of names on television. Eventually, rather contemplating how to deal with his predicament, he began to wonder if there would be an after credits scene.

Before he could answer either thought, 2D fell asleep.
