-Sirius-

The river is long and dark, a fog surrounds the river never disappearing. It's always eerie quiet here, but that's what they want you to think until it attacks. The river is guarded by a giant serpent that keeps anyone from crossing. This serpent has been around longer than I was born, and I pretty sure it was around before my father fell too. I could be wrong but you never know. The water looks so still, but we all know it's in there somewhere waiting for its next victim. There's no boat to ride across, and you would be an idiot to want to try and swim across. I won't be able to fly everyone across, and even if I could once we make it over we won't be able to use our magic. The Fates and Destiny will be the only ones who will be able to use their magic, and that's dangerous just as it is.

"How do we get across?" Chax asks as he looks over at us.

"I'm thinking." I plainly state.

"Can't you like, fly us across?" Jessamyn suggests.

"I won't be able to fly all of you at once." I tell her sighing.

"You might not be able to take all of us over at once, but you can take trips." Lebara mentions.

"That won't work either, because once I get over there I won't be able to fly back over. Our magic will be blocked once we cross." I explain to her.

"Oh! That's right! The magic barrier that the Fates and Destiny put up." Lebara says mentally smacking herself.

"So, how do we cross?" Jessamyn asks getting worried.

"There's only one option left, and you guys won't like it." I tell them sighing again.

"You're thinking of going by yourself?" Chax asks already knowing the answer.

"Yes. It's the only way. I'll fly myself and Cordelia across, and you guys stay here and wait." I tell them.

"You expect us to just sit here and wait?" Lebara asks annoyed.

"Well, you guys can go back to Zakary and Brigid if you want." I suggested shrugging.

"You're missing the point, Sirius!" Lebara argues.

"No listen Lebara! We are running out of time here! Cordelia is dying, again! I'm not going to lose her again when I'm actually here to prevent it this time. I'm going to save her, and hopefully Cristobal as well. I'm not going to abandon her, not again." I say staring down at Cordelia's unconscious face.

"Sirius, we get this is important. We want to help, we want to do anything that can help. They are our friends too. Please try to be reasonable about this." Chax asks hopefully.

"We just don't have time to be responsible." I say shaking my head.

I made my wings appear before shooting into the air, and I ignored their yells to come back as I took off across the river. I felt Chax trying to connect with me through mind link, but I completely ignore him as I focus on flying across. I then stop as my eyes widen with the sight in front of me. The giant serpent suddenly appeared out of the water in front of me. I stared up at it as this thing is huge! It looms over me standing almost 50ft but the rest of it is still in the water. This scaly beast is a dark teal almost black with yellow eyes peering at you. Its mouth is wide with thousands of tiny teeth that can rip any large animal to pieces, but it can eat a human or demon whole without blinking an eye. The giant serpent is called Lathtrap Viper. It's called that for many reasons, we don't know what it's actually called and if you haven't noticed it is a deadly trap for anyone who tries to cross the river. The Viper part is because well it's a serpent and because if you do somehow get bitten and not swallowed whole, well it does have venom inside of it.
