Thirteen: Punished

I teleported back where I last left Zakary since he never showed up. I look around expecting to see him but didn't see him anywhere. He could still be with Sirius and the others. I thought hopefully. I hate to know if anything bad happened to him. I look around the area one more time just in case I missed him, and noticed something laying on the ground. I walk over to it before bending down and picking it up. It's a boot? I stare at it confused as to why would there be a boot laying around. I then got a whiff of Zakary's scent and spun around thinking he's somewhere near. My eyes widen when I realized it's from the boot. This is Zakary's boot. I realized in shock. Wait! If this is his boot, then where is Zakary? He couldn't have gone too far right? I should try and see if I could mind link him. Zakary? Are you there? I mind linked him.

I waited and waited but didn't hear a reply. It was actually kind of hard to even push through with the mind link. That can't be good. I hope Zakary is okay but I have this terrible feeling that something happened to him. I need to get to the others and we need to find Zakary. I have to figure out where they are first. I'll mind link Chax since he's more likely won't yell at me. Chax? Are you there? I mind link him worriedly.

"Brigid? Where are you guys? I thought Zakary was dropping by real quick." Chax mind links back.

"He's not there with you guys?" I ask more worriedly.

"No. He said he was gonna stop by but be never showed up." Chax tells me.

"Oh my. I was worried you were going to say that." I say sighing.

"What are you talking about?" Chax asks.

"I found Zakary's boot laying here, but he's not anywhere around." I explain to him.

"Shit. Okay um come to Flowood cemetery, it's where we are." Chax tells me before shutting the mind link off.

I let out a sigh as I glanced down at his boot trying to figure out what could've happened to him. I teleported to where everyone is and my eyes widen when I see where I'm standing. There's holes dugout and bodies spread out in a straight line. What the fuck! I thought shock as I stepped back from the dead bodies. I then saw Cordelia's body on the ground next to a dead body, and watch as Sirius lets some blood trickled on top of what looks like a pile of dust and a journal.

"What is going on here?" I ask not believing my eyes.

"The Fates and Destiny told Sirius that the only way to help Cordelia and Cristobal is to find a dead human body that will accept Cristobal. The catch is Cris has to accept the body in return." Chax explains to me.

"Are you serious?" I ask shock.

"Yeah. So far we haven't had any luck." Jessamyn tells me sadly.

"Wait. Wheres Lebara?" I ask looking around.

They all stop what they were doing and I felt with a heavy heart that something terrible happened to her. I glance over to Sirius to see him tossing the dead body that was next to Cordelia in frustration. Lebara died and I felt guilty for bringing her up. Sirius repeats the process with the blood, dust, and the journal and it seems like again that the transaction failed when Sirius growled in anger. Sirius kept repeating the process over and over until there were no bodies left. Sirius threw the last body like a fireball as he got pissed off. We watched as he sat down next to Cordelia who looks worse than the last time I saw her. So they need a dead body that the body and Cristobal need to accept. I thought trying to figure out a way to help out. I think if they try and find a body that looks similar to Cristobal's body then maybe it will work.
