i'm only halfway through part 2 of this but i feel bad cause i never update soooo... enjoy!☺️
You stepped onto the playground in Sunagakure, your brother and sister close behind. You were on holiday, a rare thing as people of the Hidden Leaf, and decided to come to the Suna, considering they had a liberal amount of beaches and strange amount of sun. Your parents had decided to relax in the inn, leaving nine year old Kiba and you and your fourteen year old sister, Hana, to make new friends.
You evaluated the scene in front of you, carefully examining each group of children, before skipping over to a circle of roughly 6 girls. They welcomed you kindly, with smiles and hugs, then began telling you all about Sunagakure.
"Suna's great! Honestly! There's so much to do, and all my friends are here; there's, like, no bad sides. Well, except for -"
"Shut up, Akari! We're not supposed to talk about that!"
"Sorry, Yua. I forgot."
Your head cocked to the side. "Talk about what?"
"Nothing!"
The girls hurried response confused you. What was so bad that no one was allowed to talk abut it?
You gave up questioning, your young mind almost immediately disinterested. That is, until you noticed a boy around your age, sitting on a nearby swing.
The boy had dull red hair, and sad, sea foam eyes. He had a tattoo on his forehead, too small for you to make out at that distance, and a lonely air around him. You also noticed his lack of eyebrows, but the most prominent thing was the way the other children avoided him like the plague.
Your curiosity sparked almost instantly, and you immediately needed to know who he was.
"Who's that?" The words slipped from your lips before you could catch them, loud and confident.
"Who's who?" Akari questioned, her eyes looking for who you could be looking at.
Knowing you had already asked, and it was too late to go back, you raised a finger to point at the boy. "Him. Over there."
The girls simultaneously threw their heads over their shoulders to eye the boy, a few squeaking in surprise.
"You shouldn't speak to him," Yua said, her glossy eyes focused on the ground before her.
"Why not?" You were drenched in curiosity, and felt that you would just die if you didn't find out who he was.
"He's a monster."
With those words, Akari dismissed the conversation, bringing up the latest fashion trend in Suna. You, however, fell completely silent, thinking over those words again and again.
He's a monster...
Monster. The word you couldn't seem to shake. Surely he was just a normal human being, but if that was the truth, why was everyone avoiding him like they'd be sent to the fiery pits of hell if they went anywhere near him?
You stood abruptly, stepping past the girls and ignoring their shouts for you to come back, and stalked over to the red haired boy.
You stopped in front of him, offering him your hand to shake.
"Hi. I'm y/n."
He glared up at you, before angrily gritting his teeth and staring at the ground.
"Go away."
Your eyebrows furrowed and you sat comfortably in front of him. His gaze diverted instantaneously.
"No. I want to be your friend."
