You pressed the cotton against his wound carefully, frowning when he hissed.

"Neji, I can't believe you cut you arm this badly."

"The knife slipped while I was cooking."

You bit your lip, trying not to giggle. He knew he wasn't the best at cooking, and this type of thing seemed to happen every time he tried.

"You should be more careful. Or order takeout when I'm not there to patch you up."

"That's cook-shaming me, y/n. I won't stand for that."

"You're lucky you can still stand. I wouldn't be surprised if the knife fell on your foot."

He chuckled, watching your fingers as you wrapped the bandage around his arm. The concentrated expression on your face amazed him. You completely threw yourself into any situation in front of you, no matter how small or tedious it was. That was one of the many reasons why he loved you.

"I'm sorry you had to deal with this."

"It doesn't matter. I'll always be ready to help you, no matter what. And don't apologise for hurting yourself."

His lips pulled apart into one his rare smiles. You finished with the bandage, kissing it as a final touch, and pressed your lips against his gently.

He kissed you back, wrapping his good arm around your waist and pulling you into him. This kiss was much more intimate than you originally intended, but you definitely weren't complaining. You placed your hands on his shoulders, while his caressed the small of your back.

Hesitantly, he flicked his tongue against your bottom lip, politely asking for entrance. You accepted, parting your lips. Your tongues danced together, while your bodies melted into each other.

You pulled away reluctantly, panting.

"That was..."

"Amazing."

He finished your sentence, hugging you tightly.
