The father's secretary gave him an address of a hotel their father would stay. Approaching the main entrance, he noticed him leaving. His rounder figure walked among a group of three gorgeous women. Each wearing a more luxurious dress than the other.
Rigaku stopped, his heart refusing to push the blood any further. Cold sweat and burning fire fought over his body as if he entered a feverish dream.
One had a striking resemblance to Ai with her long blonde hair and clear blue eyes. Whether she was a model or actress, there was no doubt all mass publishers would kill to get her on the cover or poster. His father sent a smile from under his mustache toward that woman, and it flashed across her glittering clothes.
If the blond one shone with smiles, another one with tight raven bun frowned and sent death glares. There was something dangerous on the way she walked as if she was ready to sink her teeth in the neck of unsuspecting prey.
The last woman looked away from Rigaku's father, locking her brown eyes with the boy as the group approached him. Her lips thin as a thread curled in a dangerous smile. Rigaku stepped back, unable to stay near them as if fires danced around them.
The last woman stretched her hand, her index finger trailing Rigaku's jawbone. His body froze, switching to the defensive mechanism of playing dead. The moment lasted for a second, but he remained motionless until his father returned from walking the women to a limousine.
"Oh, Ri, what a surprise," his father greeted him.
The oldest Kamini let out a breath, realizing he could breathe. "Kon'nichiwa, Otosan."
"Formal as ever." The older man let out a huff. "But what brings you here?" He patted his shoulder, inviting him into the hotel.
Rigaku followed him for a bit without answering the question until they stood in the elevator. "I still have questions for you."
"I suppose. You are still young. There is so much you can learn."
"That's not what I mean."
The ring announced they arrived in the destined floor. Following the red carpet, Mr. Kamini flashed his card and entered his temporal room. As spacious as it was, his father also occupied only the needed space. Leaving his jacket by the entrance and putting his tie on the hanger, he led Rigaku to a living room.
"Would you like some refreshment?"
Taking his place, the boy said, "Hai, a glass of juice would help me." He touched his throat, realizing how dry it had become.
Pouring the drinks started an awkward period of silence. After a few sips, Rigaku inquired, "As I've said, I still have many questions for you. But who were those women? I haven't seen them before."
His father's chest bellowed as he silently laughed. "They are beauties, aren't they?"
"I suppose." Shiver descended down his spine.
