Kagetsu mumbled something from his sleep, yawning as the dreams eluded him. Warmth emitted from his left side, he snuggled closer to it. His eyelids flickered as his brain slowly finished its wake-up coffee, convincing Kagetsu's body to cooperate.
Moving with his legs, he bent them before stretching. All he needed were the cat's tail, paws, and ears to get the nominee on the Cutest Sleepy-Head Award. Opening his eyes, he saw blurry splatters at first before they sharpened into definite shapes.
He stared into Rigaku's glass-less sleeping face. Rubbing his eyes, he mumbled something, moving to the bathroom. Doing his daily routine without thinking about it, spared his brain strings of thoughts and allowed it to stay in idle mode a bit longer.
Snapping his back and joints with almost every movement, he questioned his sleeping habits. "What was I doing?" He put his hands above his butt, bending backward. "I feel like a reanimated zombie."
Leaving the bathroom, he still didn't pay the situation much of his thoughts.
"Ohayo..." His brother stiffened a yawn as he awoke a few minutes ago.
The greeting nudged Kagetsu in the brain, starting his cogwheels. His eyes trailed across the room, moving from one corner to the window. Glancing slightly darker sky and fluffy clouds, they traveled all the way across the floor until they landed on the wall clock.
The second hand jerked a bit by bit, ticking away the day.
"Good morn..." Kagetsu's voice died down as all the thoughts were wiped out from his brain. "Crab..." he peeped, biting his lip. "Crabmeat!" He stormed out of the room, leaving the building without taking his bag, jacket, and much less his shoes.
Rigaku watched him in silent awe, his brain filling in the cartoon dust. Placing a hand on his forehead, he tried to anchor his thoughts.

Kagetsu, short on breath, with his body throbbing and lungs screaming for a rest, reached the school theater. Gripping the door frame, he dragged his body forward.
Except for his rough breath, the hall was empty. Nobody sat, watching the play. Nobody stood on the stage.
Unable to form a thought, Kagetsu slid on the floor, collapsing.
"Bring me water!" a voice called, echoing in Kagetsu's ears after what seemed like an eternity.
His ears picked up more movements and murmur, but his eyes refused to open. Somebody lifted his head a bit, slipping a thin stream of water into his dry mouth. The cooling sensation exploded in his parched throat, springing him back to life.
Coughing the liquid, he rolled to his side, at last opening his eyes. The cloth under him covered the wooden planks he recognized from his rehearsal. Squinting his eyes, he rolled back.
