Athena's POV

The day passed by pretty quickly after that. It wasn't boring or uneventful though. Sirius Black was in all of my classes today. That's not the weird part, he's a Gryffindor, after all, it's normal for us to have classes together, the weird part is how he was acting. I felt him staring at me and when I checked, I caught him. The girls confirmed it, too. We all found it unnerving that he was staring at me so openly.

Unfortunately, some teachers said that this year they will be putting us in groups since there will be some group projects, and also to teach us teamwork. I really hope the girls and I are in the same group. Or at least I'm with someone who will actually do some of the work.

After classes, we decided to relax in the common room a bit before dinner. We went to our dormitories first to put our bags then went down to the common room. Lily sat on the couch with Caroline's head on her lap. I sat on the single sofa, my legs tucked under me, while Angie sat on the floor.

"Today passed pretty fast," I said.

"Not for me, Divination class dragged on and on and on..." Angie groaned. I stifled a laugh.

"That's because you hate it, why did you choose it if you hate it," I asked.

"Well, it's an easy O," she answered.

"Not a good enough reason, Angie," said Lily, rolling her eyes.

"Whatever," Angie said.

"Why do you think Black is acting so weird?" Caroline suddenly said.

"Ugh, please don't remind me," I rolled my eyes.

"No, but seriously, it's weird," said Angie, "What do you think he's playing at?"

"Whatever it is, I don't care," I replied.

"Angie is right, though," said Lily, "he might be up to something. He didn't say anything to you for almost three years and, thanks to Remus, there were no real encounters either. He made sure to stir him away from you,"

"It is weird, I know, and there is a 50% chance that he might be up to something," I said, "but as I said, I don't care. I'm not stupid anymore."

"We know you aren't," said Caroline, "we were just thinking out loud."

"I know," I said, "I think it's time for dinner, let's go, I'm starving."

Just like that, we ended the mini conversation and headed to the Great Hall. When we got there, it was almost full. I guess the first day tired everyone out. We sat where we usually sit and started filling our plates.

"Someone is stealing glances at you," Caroline smirked.

"Who?" I asked.

"Turn around," Angie snickered from beside Caroline.

I turned around and saw Theo from the Hufflepuff table looking in my direction. He quickly looked away. I turned back to the girls and I can tell that I was beginning to blush.

"Aww, you're blushing," Lily cooed.

"And you have that stupid smile on your face," Caroline said.

"W-what stupid smile?" I asked.

"The one Caroline gets when whenever Remus is mentioned," Angie said earning a smack from Caroline and we all laughed.

"Hey, girls. What are you laughing about?" asked Potter as he sat next to Lily.

"None of your business, Potter," Lily glared, "go sit with your friends."

"Or his friends can come and sit here," Black said. He jumped over the bench and sat beside me. It was my turn to glare. I saw Remus sit beside Caroline, who froze when she saw him, and Peter sat next to Angie, who rolled her eyes then glared at Black.

We were surrounded.

"Remus, it's great that you decided to come to sit with us for a change, but are the rest necessary?" I asked Remus, giving him a 'what the hell?' look.

"Sorry, Athena," Remus said, apologetically, "I tried."

"Um, we can go if you want to," squeaked Peter. He was clearly intimidated by all the glaring we were doing. Even Caroline came back to her senses and started glaring at Black along with Angie and Lily.

"Yes, please. Leave." I said.

"Actually, no, we can't, Wormtail," Potter said, giving Peter a look.

"And why is that? Are you incapable of walking?" Lily said.

"We are, but you see, there are no places left on the table to sit on," Black said from beside me while filling his plate. The rest of his group followed suit.

"Then sit on the floor," Angie said, glaring at him.

Black looked at her and smirked. "Now why would we do that? We are more comfortable here," he said and looked at me.

"Well, we are not comfortable with you here and since we came first, then you should leave." I snapped at Black and glared at him. I can feel my face getting red from anger.

He looked at me. More like stared at me, not saying anything. I kept glaring, not backing down.

"Nah, we're good here," he said and turned to his food. I wanted to hex him so badly.

"So, are you going to tell us what you were laughing at before we came?" Potter said, trying to diffuse the tension, but failing miserably.

"No!" We all said.

"Why not?" Black asked, "We want to laugh, too."

"Maybe we can all be friends then," Peter squeaked earning a glare from Angie beside him. He quickly leaned back as if she's going to hit him. I found that amusing and almost smiled. Almost.

"That would be the day when hell freezes over," I said.

"How about more than friends then?" Black said casually.

We all froze, except for Remus who face palmed himself. I mean we are all irritated with his new behavior, but to openly say something like that. And so casually as if it would be the most normal thing in the world.

"Been there, done that. It's not really fun," I said and stared at him coldly. He stiffened. Good. "I lost my appetite, I'm leaving."

I got up and speed-walked out of the hall. I sensed the girls behind me. None of us said anything until we reached our dormitories. I threw myself on my bed staring at the ceiling with a blank expression.

"Ok, what the bloody hell did he just do back there?" Caroline yelled, interrupting the silence.

"I just don't understand how this guy thinks?" Angie added.

"Simple. He doesn't," said Lily.

"Ay, are you ok?" asked Caroline said as she came and sat beside me. The girls followed suit.

"I am. I'm just offended that he really underestimates my intelligence," I said, "That, or he is really that stupid to think that I would ever give him the time of the day again."

None of us said anything for a while.

"Let's put some music," said Angie, "Tomorrow the real lessons start and we all need to be relaxed and ready."

"Good idea, let's put something a bit... relatable, but not sad," suggested Lily.

"I think I have the perfect song," I said and got up.

I took out the music player and speakers. Lily cast the mufiliato charm so that no one outside can hear us and I turned the player on. The song was called Broken Glass by Rachel Platten. I love that song.

"It's perfect, Ay" Angie jumped and soon we all started singing out loud off tune and doing stupid dance moves all night.
