CAYDEN POV

The first few days were unusually calm. I mean it is okay that way but with Carter as the CEO, I doubt it. Maybe he was planning on some way to pull a trick on me. I soon had to think of something better than his plan. What if he did something and I had no counter curses? Yeah I can't just go and scream Avada kedavra on his face. I laughed thinking what if I actually did that. They would lock me up in an asylum.

Someone' s deep, sexy voice blasted through the speakers in the halls.

''Good morning. Are you the sexy assistant, everyone's talking about??'' WHAT ON THE F***ING EARTH IS GOING ON HERE??? I almost fainted at the looks the people were giving me. This building has 65 freaking floors and all the floors had 3 freaking speakers.

I spoke through the intercom, '' If this is not about business, I am going to hang up.''

''No, wait. I am Bryan Adams. Carter's friend. I need to see him.'' He is soo dead if he comes up.

''Mr. Adams, you can come up. Mr. William is free now.''

I waited patiently holding my head in my hands. This is the most embarrassing situation I had ever been in. Tripping in front of the president is way better than this. The women gave me jealous looks while the men just smiled flirtatiously. I finally walked into Carter's office.

''Hello, Cayden'' Bryan gave me a charming smile but it wasn't going to work on me.

''Have you heard what you have done, Mr. Adams?'' I looked directly into his eyes. He looked confused.

''Remember the words you greeted me with? ...... Well, you spoke those into the speakers.'' I folded my hands on my chest.

''Don't pretend you didn't like it, Cayden.'' Bloody Carter spoke.

I turned and walked closer to him, blood roared into my ears. That's what he thought. OF ME.

''For the hundredth time, I am not one of your sluts. I hate attention. You don't tolerate the looks and glares people give you. I do. You don't walk through groups of people whispering when you know what they are talking about. I do. '' His eyes held guilt.

But Bryan spoke up, ''I am sorry, Cayden. I promise I didn't do it intentionally. The mike and the intercom were together. I didn't know it. Please.  I'm sorry.''

I took a deep breath and gave him a small smile. His face held seriousness. so, he was totally different from Carter. ''Its.. its okay. But you've got buy me coffee.'' I smiled.

He pulled me into a hug. This guy surprised me. He was cool and funny.

''Come on. we're going for lunch.'' He gave me a toothy grin earning a laugh from me.

We drove to a nearby restaurant, with Bryan cracking jokes and Carter was just as he used to be. That son of a b**** didn't even apologise.

Bryan tugged me closer by my waist. I squealed and punched him in his stomach.

''Oww.. For a woman, you punch hard, lady.''

''Don't grab me.'' I scowled at him.

The food was delicious. It was hard to miss the dessert. I could live here in the kitchens throughout my life.

Bryan went through my contacts. ''Blimey woman, 1100 contacts and all of them are men.'' He looked shocked.

I shrugged, '' My friends. From high school, college, work.''

Both of them just stared at me. '' No female friends?'' I shook my head.

''You.. were you a tom boy??'' I just gave him a sweet smile.

Carter spoke up, ''Tomboy? Hangs out with boys, skateboard, popular in school, likes vehicles, football?''

''And basket ball. Yeah.  That's pretty much all about me.'' I shrugged.

''Explains your height.'' Bryan nodded.

''Wait, I have one girl friend.'' They looked at me as I had grown a second head.

''One?!!''

''So, why did you quit your previous job?'' Carter asked me.

''Didn't like it'' He knew I was lying. He narrowed his eyes at me.

***************************************

''Gilbert!! put me down. now!!'' I screamed. He just laughed.

''Leave her alone, dude'' Jason leaned onto the kitchen counter.

''Yeah. Be wise and listen to him or you will have no children'' I threatened him. That got him. He put me down instantly and covered his d***.

''So, how's your boss? hot isn't he?'' Fred inquired.

I raised my eyebrows. ''Why are you questioning me like a girl?''

''Just asking''

I sat down next to him,'' He is one hell of a arrogant bastard. That is what I could say about him. He gets on my nerves like the girls in high school.''

''Do you remember you mixed purple dye in Sophia's shampoo? she almost died of grief?'' Gilbert chuckled.

''Yeah and she almost fried me the next day.'' I shuddered.

''okay, Do me a favour and try not to punch him. or your job would sprout wings.''

''I'll try. That's a hard one anyway.''
