A/N: I chose this setting because of How I Met Your Mother. I would've done Vegas but that's where Reid is from. Also I guess this could maybe be angst. I could really use a solid definition of that word. Being honest, this would never happen to Spencer Reid.

You and the team were celebrating solving a case at the hotel bar. You were drinking. Everyone was except JJ and Hotch. They didn't feel like drinking.

You were on your third or so drink. Your current drink of choice was a margarita.

You exclaimed, "Hey, Spence! How about you go out and win me some money with that beautiful mind of yours?"

You were totally drunk at the point. You never called Reid Spence. Sometimes you would call him Spencer but never Spence. Only JJ called him Spence. If you wanted to tease him, you'd called him doctor in a certain tone that made it clear you were teasing him.

Reid replied, "Sure but I can't guarantee anything"

"Oh please you won $2,000 once and gave it to a hooker" remarked Rossi.

Prentiss said, "But that was Las Vegas. This is Atlantic City"

Morgan stated, "Atlantic City is like the Vegas of the east coast"

You said, "I still want more money so let's go"

You and Spencer got up from your table near the bar and headed to the casino part of the hotel. There were tables of black jack, poker, and other games. There were also slot machines.

You could win a lot of money or you could lose a lot of money. You had faith in that brilliant mind of his.

After you two went into the casino, you couldn't remember anything else from that. You had some idea of what happened once you woke up in Spencer Reid's bed.

You had just woke up. Funny, you couldn't remember going to bed. Then you realized two not so great things.

You were naked

and

this wasn't your room.

It was at this point you knew you f*cked up.

You looked over to your side to see who else was there.

It was Spencer Reid.

(No surprise there, am I right?)

Naturally you let out a little scream which woke him up and rolled off the bed with the sheets and comforter.

Spencer asked, "Why am I naked and why are you in my room?"

You remarked, "You're the genius. You put the pieces together"

You had drunkenly did the deed with Dr. Spencer Reid. Yeah, that wasn't going to be awkward at all.

Realization slapped him in the face, "Oh, OH!"

You told him, "I don't remember anything after we went into the casino"

"Neither do I"

"That must be new for you. It's because of all the alcohol we drank last night. It interferes with the brain's development of new memories but you already knew that, didn't you?"

"I did. How about you close your eyes and I go hop in the shower and once I'm in there you get dressed and go back to your room? And we forget that this ever happened?"

"Yeah, I think I can do that"

You closed your eyes and waited until you heard the shower turn on to open them. You gathered your clothes from yesterday off the floor and put them on. You ran out of his room and into yours. Luckily, your room was right next to Reid's and no one saw you.

You changed into some fresh clothes and pretended that night never happened. Although on the plane back to D.C, you did wonder what he looked like naked.

Six weeks passed and you just received some big news. It shook you up. Prentiss noticed and asked what was up. You told her you were fine. That was a lie.

You weren't fine. Far from it, actually. You could barely focus on the case. You could only think about how much your life was going to change, no matter how selfish that was.

You had to tell someone. You couldn't hold it in anymore.

Once you got back to the BAU, you pulled Reid into the empty conference room.

He asked, "What's this about?"

You replied, "Spencer, I have some big news to tell you and I'm not exactly sure how to tell you so I'm just going to do it and be straight with you. Do you remember that night in Atlantic City?"

"Yeah, the memories actually came back to me so I do remember what we did but what does that have to with your news?" asked Reid.

You confessed, "I'm pregnant and you're the father. And before you ask, yes I'm sure. I took a test and I know it's you because you're the person I've done in the past few months"

For the first time in his life, Spencer Reid had no words. He just stood there speechless for a few minutes. His face was priceless. You wished you had a camera so you could remember that face forever.

He started to say speak but came out with, "How uh what the how uh"

He spoke incoherently for a minute or two before finally being able to say something that made sense.

He finally said, "I'm going to be a dad?"

You told him, "Yeah. Unless you I know, it's a miscarriage. Cause one in every five known pregnancies end in miscarriage. And don't even get me started about stillborns and genetics. I kinda scared myself by looking up that kind of stuff once I found out"

He hugged you and didn't let go until someone else entered the room. It was JJ. She said she was glad you two were already in here because there's another case. You guys just got back and now there was another case. You could use another distraction because you had no idea what you were going to do with the baby on the way. Your parents didn't even know. The only two people who knew were you and Spencer.

God, what the hell were you going to tell the team? The truth? Or a really good lie? The only thing you had decided about the baby was that you were going to keep them.

Telling Spencer was terrifying enough. Telling the team was not something you were looking forward to. Telling your parents was also not some thing you were exactly excited to do.

You tried to focus on the case instead. You had some trouble and you could tell so did Spencer.

Your life was going to change forever. Nothing was going to be the same. Especially your relationship with Spencer. You wouldn't mind getting together with him because you did like him as more than a friend.
