After school and work, I lay in my bed. It had been a long day and I am so glad that today is Friday. I lie there still in my work uniform flipping the walkie talkie, the Batman gave me, over and over in my hands. I had the most eventful week and I couldn't believe how different my life was only three days ago.

I looked at my phone to see if Tori had called me back. She was not at school today and I am really hoping that her parents don't decide to forbid our friendship. She did not call me back. I put my phone back down.

I wanted to test the workings of the walkie talkie. I wanted to see if what the Batman said was true, that if I talked into it, he would respond. But at the same time, I didn't want to risk getting this privilege taken from me. My curious side won out in the end and I pressed the side button of the walkie talkie.

"Hello," I greeted into the mouth piece. There was some static, but no answer. "Hello?" Still nothing. I put the walkie talkie down. I knew this was to good too be true, I thought taking a large breath.

"Hello?" A voice greeted back. It wasn't the Batman's voice but it sounded more British. "Who is this?"

"Oh My God! Don't Hang up!" I yelled into the talkie. "I was looking for the Batman."

"Oh, um, he is not currently available, um, I can tell him to call you back," the voice uncertainly said.

"Okay," I responded. I got no response. I laid the talkie on my forehead. Wow! I really couldn't believe I just talked to a member of the family.

"I need to tell someone about this!" I thought aloud to myself. I grabbed my phone and text Tori about everything that happened since the explosion last night. I thought maybe if she couldn't answer her phone, she could get the text, so she can view if at her own time.

I laid in my bed and closed my eyes, I deserved a long sleep.

I awoke to consistent knocking on my window. I tried to ignore it until the person knocking proceeded to try and open up my window. "What the hell?" I yelled at the window. My sleep vision focused and I saw who it was. I looked at my alarm it was 11:30 pm.

I hastily got up and unlocked the window. My guest let himself in and I shut it behind him. We stood there and had a stare down for a good thirty seconds until he said, "Penny-one said that you called through the walkie talkie."

"I was looking for the Batman not Robin," I asserted.

"Well, Batman has more important things to do than come to you beck and call," Robin retorted. "So what is it that you want?"

"Um," I uttered knowing well that I never wanted anything, "I didn't really want anything. I just wanted to see if the walkie talkie worked."

I never seen someone make a face that looked more disgusted than how Robin looked right at this moment. "So then you're wasting my time?" Robin walked over to my bed and took the walkie talkie. And then walked over to the window opening it. "I guess you don't need this then."

"Hey! You can't take that!"

"I can and I am!" he retorted climbing through the window. I followed him out the window. "Where are you going?"

"I'm not letting you leave until you give me that back!" I put my hand out for the walkie taklie. He moved his hand so I could not get it.

Robin pulled out a grappling hook and pressed the trigger. The hook landed somewhere on a building across the street. I did not really think through what I did next. But that walkie talkie was the only bridge to a life more rewarding than the one I already had. I lunged forward and grabbed the boy around the waste, just as his body left contact with the fire escape. I closed my eyes when I noticed I was flying over the street midair. "What do you think you're doing?" Robin yelled as I gripped to his waste for dear life. Apparently he was against making sure I didn't fall to my death.

"I'm trying to get back what belongs to me!" I yelled back at him. We finally landed on the building diagonal to my apartment building. I released the boy and fell to the ground.

Robin retracted the grappling hook and turned in my direction. "Do not ever do that, ever!" Robin pointed a finger at me. He turned to run off and I stood up prepared to follow. Robin took off in a run across the roof and I followed, never losing traction on him. He came to the end of the room and I thought he was going to stop, but he didn't. He jumped across onto the next roof.

I was going to do the same until I saw the over the end of the roof. I stopped in my steps. I can't do this, it too far down. I was brought back out of my thoughts when I heard a laugh. "I guess you can't keep up after all," Robin mocked and turned to keep running.

You can do this! I assured myself as I backed and prepared to jump over to the other building, which was across the entire street. I stopped and took a breath. I looked up and noticed that Robin stopped. He looked genuinely curious to see if I would make the jump. I was curious to see if I, myself could make the jump.

I began running at full speed, never stopping once. I got to the ledge, closed my eyes, and jumped. I opened my eyes midair, and started screaming my head off. I started flailing my arms around as I approached the other building. I wasn't going to make it. I put my arms out to grasp the edge of the ledge.

I nearly missed the ledge, but I grabbed it with one hand. I felt the joint in my right shoulder give way and I grabbed the ledge with the other arm to keep myself from falling. My right arm was at this point useless in the situation and I hung there regretting trying to prove myself. Something that I did not even need to do. I did not know these people. I started crying from the pain, I prayed that my strength did not fail.

"Here give me your arm," I looked up. Robin was over me putting his hand out for me to grab. I reluctantly grabbed it with my dislocated arm and he tugged. I screamed from the pain, but I was happy that I was not dead.

"Thank you," I thanked hugging the boy, who refused to hug me back.

"Do you want me to fix your shoulder?" he asked. I nodded a yes. He grabbed my shoulder on bother sides and told me to could to three. I did. But, on one he pushed the joint back into place making me yelp.

"I thought you said on three?"

"Then you would have seen it coming," he retorted. I shook my head and tested my arm. It hurt but not as bad.

"Thank you Robin," I smiled. He acknowledged my thanks and turned to leave. "Wait!"

"What?" he asked turning around.

"Are you forgetting something?" I said pointing to the walkie talkie that was strapped to his utility belt. He pulled the walkie talkie from his belt and tossed it to me.

"I guess you deserve to keep it," he threw the talkie at me. "Gotta make sure you don't go accidentally killing yourself." And with that he was gone.
