i'm waiting in the library, hoping mattia would show up.

i know that he's probably annoyed of me.

he's still not here, and his last class ended 10 minutes ago.

i worry too much, maybe i should just give up.

and then i saw him.

i saw his messy hair, that probably got messy because he goes way too often with his hand through his hair.

when he looked around the crowd and found me, i gave him a quick smile.

he made his way to me and sat next to me.

"the project" he said, dissapointing me a bit. he could've atleast say hello.

"uhm yea, tell me something about you" i said awkwardly

why would we have this stupid excersice. it's completely dumb.

"i killed my parents" mattia said monoton

i'm such a bad person, why do i have to laugh.

"tell me something i don't know" i spoke

"okay, i'll start" i sighed

"i have a peanut butter collection" i said proudly and mattia eyed me weirdly.

"that's weird" he said bluntly

"it is not" i said, furrowing my eyebrows

and suddenly mattia smiled brightly.

not that quick smile he gives me, when he doesn't want me to feel bad. a real, beautiful, bright smile.

i smiled back, not even knowing why we're smiling.

"okay, maybe it's not as weird as liking sylvia plath poems" mattia spoke, looking back at me, and scrunching his nose, while waiting for a reaction from me.

"i love sylvia plath" i smiled, making sweater paws with the hoodie of mattia that i'm wearing.

"really? there were a bunch of poems of her in prison" mattia chuckled, and i genuinly felt like we're getting closer.

"in prison? why would there be poems in prison?" i laughed, having a whole other imaginaton of a prison

"well, we were getting bored. and i found interest in her poems" he spoke

"so how about a presentation about sylvia plath?" i asked, a bit excited.

"yea, sounds good" he smiled a bit.

we started research a bit more, looking through the internet and just talking. we laughed, communicated and smiled. it seemed like we were just normal friends hanging out in a library and not two teenagers who are both a bit weird.

"sades?" i heard from behind me and turned around, facing my best friends.

"noelle, kairi" i said, a bit monotone.

"what are you doing here?" noelle asked me, looking for a split second to mattia with a judgy look.

"just hanging out?" i said confused

"sadie, i need to talk to mattia. excuse us" kairi spoke sassily, taking mattia's wrist and dragging him out of the library.

mattia looked for a split second back to me with the same confused look as me, i stood up trying to make my way to mattia and kairi, but noelle stopped me.

"he's not doing anything, chill" she sighed

"of course he's not doing anything, his 4'3 ass, couldn't even touch mattia without breaking" i snapped, and she looked at me in shock.

i don't snap often back.

"i'm just saying he wants to talk to him. really protective over your boyfriend" noelle huffed and i looked at her confused.

"what's wrong with you? kairi and you are acting so weird" i sighed and she sighed too, laying her cold hand on mine.

"sadie, we just want you safe. kairi knows something, but i don't" she spoke and i sighed again.
