"is that a black dress?" my mom asked, looking with shock at my dress.

i spinned around again, my dress flying in the air.

"yes! i thought i could try somethung new" i smiled brightly looking at myself in the mirror.

"it's been basically a tradition that you wear red! why black? that's so... not you" my mom spoke

"noelle said it looks good and trying new things is never bad ma. maybe black can become my new thing" i smiled and my mom shook her head.

"black just doesn't fit your personality sades. you don't have to wear red if you don't want to, i have a yellow dress in my closet-" my mom said, but i cut her a bit off.

"mattia is wearing black too. he said he wears a black button up shirt and black jeans" i explained

"okay, i'll go now, please be there in 2 hours" my mom sighed deeply, her silver dress looking way too perfect on her.

"good bye ma "

"bye sades" she smiled quickly and then turned around, leaving the room.

i turned back around to the mirror and looked at my dress. it really isn't something i'd ever thought of wearing, i could think of noelle wearing this, but me? nah.

i sat on my on my chair and started to lock my hair.

-

when i finished i already got a text message from mattia, so i stood up and made my way downstairs and opened the door.

"hey" i spoke, scrunching my nose at the awkward tension i already felt.

"hi" he said back, looking down at my dress.

"you look good, black looks good on you" he almost whispered and a small smile appeared on my lips.

"i'd say black suits you too, but you probably already know that" i chuckled and mattia smiled.

a smile that didn't reach his eyes, it never does.

"wanna go?" mattia smirked a bit holding his arm out. i hooked my arm around his and we started to walk towards his car.

after 20 minutes of just small talking we arrived at the ballroom.

"this is so awkward, gosh" i mumbled, when i hooked my arm around mattia's again, and saw people i haven't seen since last year.

"if my mom says anything weird, ignore it." i said to mattia and he gave me a panicked look, but played it off, the second i opened the door of the ballroom.

"also, if my ex starts talking, ignore him too. he's probably on our table once in awhile 'cause his mom and my mom are good" i said and mattia looked at me a bit confused.
