"i don't know if i can do it" i tapped my fingers against my locker and kairi sighed.

"look, it's your decision. it seems somewhat important" kairi said and i nodded.

"and you're sure sadie is gonna help us? is she even smart enough? she seems a little crazy" i spoke and kairi chuckled

"trust me sadie is the smartest person i know, she's just a little bit... crazy, but i mean that's not always bad!" kairi said

"okay, i guess" i mumbled

"aren't we like- using her?" he asked and i didn't answer.

"there she is" i mumbled, closing my locker before sadie stood next to us.

"i'm gonna go find noelle and the boys, see you" kairi smiled, leaving us alone.

"why do you want to be friends with me again?" i blurted out and she raised her eyebrows questioningly.

"i am danger, literally everyone fears me except you, well and kairi" i explained and a small smile appeared on her lips.

"fear can feel good" she spoke, putting her silver glasses away. she's not wearing them often, just in class.

"huh?" i asked

"it's a psychological fact. fear can feel good- well unless you're in danger" she chuckled and i seriously wonder what goes on in her mind.

"another psychological fact humans would rather know something bad is coming than not knowing what to expect" she continued and i almost freezed.

does she know something?

oh my god.

"why would you say that?" i asked and she shrugged.

"i don't know, just a funfact i guess" she laughed.

she's scaring me, which is funny because she should be scared of me.

"what's going on in your brain?" i proceeded to ask

"my thoughts are like stars that i can't put into a constellation" she answered with a smug smile.

"i have no idea what you just said" i admitted and she giggled softly.

"wanna skip a class?" she suddenly asked and i shrugged

"sure" i answered, i did that all the time before i went to jail.

we exited the school, i just followed her, until we stopped.

it was like a garden, and in the middle of it there was a bench. just one.

"what is this?" i asked and she stopped before speaking up.

"i came here everyday after my dad" she stopped again

"stopped coming home i guess" she continued.

"i'm sorry" i mumbled and she just gave me a quick smile before running to the bench happily.

"i found this place when i tried running away from home. i thought it was my fault that he ran away"

she's telling me all these private things and the only thing that comes to my mind is what kairi said.

"aren't we like- using her?"

are we? am i?

"i just love this place, i actually don't see many people here and never shared it" she smiled her known smile.

"it's beautiful" i replied

"you know, you can always talk to me if you need someone to talk to" she spoke, her hazel brown eyes meeting mine.

am i gonna destroy her optimistic beautiful side when i do what i need to do in 5 days?

i can't do it, but i need to.

"thanks, i just don't think you'd understand a single thing in my life" i spoke, sitting next to her on the brown bench.

"i'm a good listener" she smiled

"what if i need to do something so a loved one- and i doesn't get hurt, but in return i might-"i stopped and she looked at me confused.

"no it's stupid, tell me another psychological fact" i chuckled changing the subject.

"we care more about a single person than a massive tragedy" she said leaning against the bench.

i feel so calm.

calm before the storm.

authors note:

LOL I WROTE 3 DIFFERENT ALTERNATIVES FOR THIS CHAPTER BUT I USED THIS, CUZ IT'S KINDA THE MOST NORMAL ONE.

also i don't want to bring your hopes TOO MUCH up for chapter 10, but i can literally do ANYTHING with this book after that chapter.

Question: is the length of my chapters okay (it's always 600-900 words) or should i write more (1000+. words) cause i could actually write more

bye lyall.
