Chapter 27 - We Meet Again

The strong grip you had on Yeri, tightened as the metal gate closed behind you.
Not knowing quite what to do, it was easier to walk behind the others and follow them like a lost puppy.

The base itself was rather rough looking, a larger area covered in different tents, seemingly meant for training. A bunch of men walked around in their uniforms with machineguns latched to their backs walked around the crowded area.
This definitely wasn't a place for your taste. Practically weapons everywhere.

After almost being trampled over by a team of running soldiers, your eyes fell on the multiple grey, buildings placed next to each other in front of you. It was the barracks of military.

The place where the enlisted people would sleep and keep their stuff. Their dorms.
"We found it. He should be in room 256." Kai's smile made you relax your already tense nerves.
"Let's get inside." The beautiful girl in front of you exclaimed.

Kai nodded and pushed the door open.

A powerful smell of sweat and synthetic lemon crawled up your nose. The bathroom was right next to you, being cleaned out by a janitor, hence the lemon smell.

" Well... This is nice."
" Come on, my brother's waiting." A desperate Kai half yelled, beginning to want to his brother in real life, instead of the weekly face timing, he'd gotten used to after a year of doing so.
Yeri, clearly taken back by his answer, scoffed at him.

Walking down the long hallway, red door filled the light green-grey wall. Each door, a silver plate placed perfectly on the used doors, engraved with a number.

"251 252 253 254 255... AHA 256." The young boy pointed out.
Loudly knocking on the door, it wasn't hard to notice your friends smiler, brighter than ever. It was a special day after all. Kai hadn't seen his brother in practically a year.

Ever since he joined the military, you found out that this military had an important rule: The soldiers families couldn't visit, except for one day a year.
So of course, Kai was deeply excited to see his brother again. His brothers name, Huening Alex.

Your eyes averted back, distracted by the door creaking, revealing a rather buff looking man. Alex.
As he engulfed his big brother into a tight hug, you remembered the early memories with Alex.

The constant playing in Kai's garden or his room, you'd always spot Alex somewhere in their house. Honestly speaking, you maybe used to have the tiniest crush on friends older brother.
Alex certainly was attractive and he still was.

"That's great, bro." Alex laughed at his brother, having you realize you skipped the most of the conversation.
Slowly turning around, you realized something was missing. Or rather someone...

"Where's Mark?"
"Eh?" Yeri looked back at you.
"Mark isn't here."
Kai annoyingly sighed, disappointed but not surprised.

"I bet 10 bucks I find him before you do." You playfully smirked, wanting some competition.
"You sure? My brother knows this place very well." You nodded.

"Okay then, I'll just take Yeri with me."
"Wait!" the boy exclaimed loudly.
"You'll take Alex. I can take Yeri." A nervous cloud-like blush formed across his pale cheeks, having him look down.
