Love? He just said he loves me. What am I supposed to do with that?
"Maybe try answering the very important question I asked first?" At some point Gio had grabbed my hands and was holding them close to him.
"Gio I- What am I supposed to say?"
"Yes, you're supposed to say yes. Or at the very least okay or sure. Anything that means you want to marry me too."
"I barely know you."
"We have eternity to get to know each other. We already know that we will be together no matter what, this is just better. When we explain our relationship to people we can simply tell the we are married. Please Rose?"
"Are you sure you want to marry me?"
"Of course. Just say yes already."
"I mean... I guess it wouldn't be such a horrible thing to happen... I want to marry you too Giovanni Romano." Before I finished my sentence Gio stood up and picked me up to kiss me. He spun me around and held me in the air as he continued kissing me. We were eventually cut off my loud clapping coming from the tree line. I looked over but couldn't see anything before Sebastian and Alessa were suddenly in front of us.
"I knew you would say yes." Sebastian had a cocky smirk on his face as he took me from Gio and wrapped me in a hug. Alessa congratulated Gio and gave him a peck on the cheek before doing the same with me.
"Wait, you two were in on this? You both knew?"
"Of course dear, I didn't come in just to apologize. Giovanni asked for my help decorating. "
"I was just here to distract you while they added the decorations to the tree and she gave him the ring."
"Wait, what ring?" I looked over at Gio who looked a little embarrassed.
"Oops." He mumbled out before pulling out a small cream colored box with gold trim and gold letters. The box said 'per sempre amore mio'. "It means forever my love." Gio opened the box to reveal a beautiful yet simple ring. It was a silver band with three oval diamonds on top. I knew he had picked through my brain to figure out what kind of ring I wanted but I couldn't be mad right now. Gio took my hand gently and slid the ring onto my finger. I admired the ring and how it glittered in the light with every movement, it was gorgeous.
"Now that all that has been settled, I need to go home." Alessa stated softly.
"I thought you were staying?"
"Well dear, I was just sticking around to see the proposal. Now I have to head home so I can arrange some things for the wedding!" I will set us up appointments for dresses and possible venues for now until you two set a date." Before I could reply she was gone.
"Don't worry, she won't take over the whole thing like that. She will let you pick and choose but if she gets too overbearing just ask her to back off."
"Easy for you to say, have you met your mother?" Sebastian stuck his finger in the direction Alessa had just disappeared. Gio let out a chuckle before taking me back to the house.
"Gio You didn't do all this last minute just because your mother pushed you to did you?"
"Absolutely not princess." Gio picked me up and sat me on the counter before standing between my legs and continuing, "I love you Rose, my mother saying all of those things was just her getting a little over excited. I told her to bring up being engaged so you would leave the room long enough for her and I to go decorate the tree. I didn't think she would say all of that stuff about kids and changing you though. For that I do apologize and I hope you understand that you are under no obligation to do any of that." Of course he knew how I felt about having kids, he can't mind his own business.
