"Listen Gio, your mom keeps calling me. You are going to have to talk to her at some point." Giovanni hasn't spoken to his parents in two weeks and apparently she has been calling Sebastian in attempts to reach Gio. I can't say I blame him for still being upset, she was horrible to us that day. At the same time though, I wish he would talk to her. I haven't been in touch with my parents in months and it's killing me, I know it hurts him to ignore his own mother like this.

"Maybe you should talk to her. She seems to want to apologize pretty badly." Gio gave me a look like I had grown two heads before throwing his hands in the air.

"You have more reason than any of us to be mad at her, are you really suggesting I talk to her again?"

"Yes I am. I believe people deserve a second chance, I gave you a second chance didn't I?"

"Gave him a second chance for what dear?" Everyone's heads snapped to the entryway of the kitchen to see Gio's mother standing there. I don't know how she got in without being noticed by Gio or Sebastian.

"Mother, what are you doing here?" Gio's eye were narrowed as he glares at her.

"Listen mio figlio, I have given you time to get past your anger and now I am trying to apologize. I quite like the little speech Daisy gave and I realize that I should also give her a second chance. She may be small and weak and human but she is your mate so I suppose it won't kill me to help her."

"Her name is Rose, and what are you talking about? Help her with what?"

"I am staying here for a week and I will teach her proper etiquette. You know just the basics, table manners, introductions, walking, talking, and anything else she may need."

"I can talk just fine thank you. I don't need help introducing myself or walking, I have been doing that since I was a baby." She acted like I was some sort of child!

"That's exactly what I mean. The way you speak is highly improper and embarrassing. I can't help you with walking right now but I will leave you instructions on how to do so for when you are able to walk again. As for introductions, informal ones like with Gio's father and I you should make yourself. If it is for business meetings, Gio should introduce you."

"Mother that's enough. You can stay for the week but you aren't going to make rose train like that the entire time." Gio's mother was hesitant for a moment before she gave in to his demands.

"Fine. You still didn't answer my question though, why did she have to give you a second chance?" With that Gio looked at me wide eyed and I could tell that he didn't want me to talk about what really happened. I glanced over at Sebastian but he was trying to control his laughter and just shrugged his shoulders.

"Well ma'am, do you want the long version or the short one?" With a chuckle I glanced up at Gio to see him slightly shaking his head no at me as if I didn't get the first hint. This was going to be fun.

I told Gio's mom how I came to Italy and met Gio but that I wasn't fond of him at first. I then told her that I just decided to move in with him and see if I could really give our relationship a chance after he explained that I was his mate. I kept it simple because this is the story I would tell everyone from now on. No one could know how I really met Gio or how I came to live with him, at least this was not fully a lie.

By the time I finished the story Gio looked pleased that I hadn't told his mother the full story. I glanced over at Gio's mom and she actually looked happy.

"I was worried my Gio had brought you here in a not so nice way. He usually takes what he wants and doesn't care what others think. He got that from his father." She gave Gio a soft smile and for just a moment I thought I was looking at a completely different person. The woman in front of me seemed kind and funny and not at all like the woman I met two weeks ago.
