You bolted through the smog-filled streets of west city, your footsteps nothing but white noise as you tried to escape Goku Black's blood-thirsty presence. Inhaling deeply, you grit your teeth, trying not to imagine what would happen if the sadistic entity caught you.
Sent on a rescue mission after the failure of a resistance team to return from a supply run, the team you belonged to was sent out to locate and bring the missing soldiers back. Sadly, those goals were immediately squashed after discovering the remains of said troops, unable to even properly bury the bodies due to Black unexpectedly ambushing your team.
Prehaps pure luck, you were one of the only people who survived the surprise attack, the flash generade of your squad leader giving you and others time to run away. You were thankful for the last act of leadership, however, the feeling didn't last long, the dead end glaring at you making it abundantly clear that the extra time had been all for nothing in the end. Maybe if I turn around now I can get out here you reasoned, chills running down your spine when air was suddenly blown into your ear. You instantly turned, only catching onyx eyes before drawing your gun.
Unfortunately, that's all you got to do before your back was pressed into the wall and your wrists were pinned above your head. "Found you," Black said, smirking when you started to violently struggle against his grip. "You've already been caught yet you still persist...how pathetic," Black said, mocking your futile attempts to break free. You never stopped trying though, an idea popping into your head just as Black prepared to finish you off.
Opening your mouth as wide as you could, you bit down on Black's arm as hard as you could, his blood filling your mouth from the force you exerted. Shocked from your actions, the being was caught off guard, his face eventually contorting into one of disgust as you glared at him pointedly.
Recoiling from your body, Black freed you as you released him, your body falling in the process. You thought you'd have enough time to gather yourself and spit out the crimson liquid, however, you were wrong as Black's hand brutally connected with your cheek a moment later, the contact stinging as you hit the ground. "You wretched mortal, you have no right to defile a god in such a manner," Black snarled, harshly kicking you onto your back. You could only manage a laugh in response to Black's anger, eventually coughing out a mixture of you and Black's blood before grinning at the being.
Pressing a foot to your chest, Black clenched his fist before conjuring his blade and holding it to your neck. "Laugh all you want now mortal, soon you and your species will be nothing but ashes as I stand victorious," Black said, annoyed that the glimmer in your eyes never faded. He was tempted to snuff you out right then and there, then find another mortal to torture, but your next words stopped his thoughts.
"What's wrong Black? Upset that someone you believe you're better than actually bested you momentarily?" You asked, arching your brow. "Ya know, I bet that's probably the reason you kill everyone so quickly. You're just afraid that if you gave someone a chance that you'd be beaten," you said, grinning confidently. Sure Black would probably kill you after your words sunk in, but there was no way you would take back your criticism.
Waiting for the being to cut you down, you were surprised when Black clicked his tongue instead, letting his blade disappear before releasing you. Surprised at the new development, you were slow to react, yet Black patiently waited for you, a grin gracing his features when you grabbed your gun and pointed it at him.
"Do you truly believe those filthy mortals would have beaten me if I'd given them a chance?" Black questioned, his ability to suddenly compose himself grating on your nerves. "Not entirely, but anything's possible if you put your all into it," you replied, keeping your eyes and gun trained on Black as you stood from the ground. "Of course as a mortal you'd say that," Black chided, "your kind is always pushing the boundaries, never satisfied with your place in life." You could only frown at Black's characterization of humanity, your finger itching to shoot the self proclaimed god as he assumed a fighting stance. "However, I am just god mortal, so in spirit of that, I shall afford you the opportunity to try out your ridiculous assumption," Black said.
Beckoning you forward, you scowled as the being taunted you, immediately trying to shoot him. Unfortunately, you missed, your breath hitching in your throat when Black disappeared. Your eyes scanned the area before you in search of the being, choking on a cry when you were unexpectedly kicked harshly on your side. You fell, but unwilling to give up, you turned back toward Black and started to fire more bullets at him, your body tensing as Black dodged all the shots, easily closing the distance between the two of you again before smacking the gun out of your hands.
Smiling coyly, Black lightly pressed his fingers to your throat, making you freeze. It felt like you held the beings gaze forever, your racing mind struggling to think of a plan while simultaneously choosing to absorb the beauty of Black at the moment. The amusement and pride trapped in the starry skies that were his eyes coupled with the cockiness with which he grinned enough to make your heart skip. You wondered if it'd do more than that if Black had been anyone other than who he currently was.
"I...I give up, you win," you finally said, gulping as you struggled to keep eye contact with the being. You silently cursed yourself, unable to understand why your brain had just now noticed Black's attractiveness. As if Black could read your thoughts, he smiled, his hand reaching up to softly brush against your bruised cheek as if he adored you. You were put off by the sensation, yelping when Black yanked your head back afterwards, exposing your neck to him. "Hmm, is that right mortal? What do you suppose I should do now to punish you?" Black asked, the feeling of his tongue dragging up your neck cutting off your response to his rhetorical question.
You began to struggle, wincing when Black squeezed your side reprimandingly in response. You didn't like how Black was treating you now, it was like he was a different person from the one that'd injured you before. You briefly wondered what had caused Black's tactics to change, your skin heating when Black captured your gaze again. "I suppose I should kill you shouldn't I? Wasting a god's time is a severe error...I'm sure your feeble mind doesn't understand that though," Black said, lifting his hand as if to conjure his blade again.
You wanted to scoff--to tell the being that he wasn't a god and that his time was no more important than anyone else's, however your life was in his hands at the moment and you didn't want to have a more painful death because of your mouth. Instead, you went limp in the beings arms and closed your eyes, missing the way Black never summoned the weapon, but just stared at you instead.
You truly were peculiar, a unique trait that Black had trouble finding in other prey. How long would Black have to wait to encounter another interesting mortal that would entertain him? The being didn't want to risk the answer that probed at his mind. Noticing how tears started to dot your cheeks, Black had half the mind to lick them away, yet a ki spike pulled his attention away from you.
Focusing on the energy, the being frowned, deducing that it was Trunks' ki, a troubling thing considering he thought he'd stranded the halfbreed in the past. Dropping you unceremoniously, your eyes popped open, only able to witness the being flying off. Confused, you watched the sky long after Black had left, wondering why you were spared.
