A year has gone by and the 2 are still happily married and Josh began his last year at college. To support him Matt borrowed some money and rented an apartment in which the couple would spend their weekends together. He would spend the whole week working as hard as he could so he could have money and pay the rent but he also had to attend college. They were extremely happy with each other but Josh still couldn't get over his sister's death and decided he wanted to have a baby and that's something that has never been in his plan but it all changed the second Matt got on his knees to propose (the second time). When he accepted he also started having the vivid wish of having a child. There wasn't a way that the baby would be biologically just his and Matt's so they decided they wanted to adopt. But before they could take care of that they had to get good grades on their finals. Josh started college a few months earlier than Matt because also finished high school a few months earlier than he should have. So his finals were closer and closer and more and more pressure came from his teachers and Matt for him to study so he could get a good grade and a good job because one of the reasons most couples are denied from adoption is because they don't have a stable income. So he finally cracked the pressure and one night his roommates told him they wanted to go to a bar and invited him to come along. At first, of course, he was resentful but after many times of his roommates asking him to come he finally accepted and went but before they went he told them everything he went through with alcohol and drugs and made them promise they wouldn't let him drink or do anything that could lead him back into his old days. Especially now that he needed to get a good grade and a good job so he and Matt can adopt. His plan surprisingly worked like a charm. He did not have even one sip of anything or touched any syringes or cigarettes. He partied the whole night had a bunch of fun and came back the next morning. He slept the whole day and missed an exam. But on the bright side, the fact that he didn't smoke or did any drugs or even drank proved that he was clean and ready to make a change. He was ready to make a commitment to be better as a husband, as a dad to be, as a human being overall. He did miss that one test but I was the most important one in the whole bunch. Days came and went and before you know it Josh has already found a job as an accountant and at the end of this week, Matt will be finishing college and get his degree in Creative writing. The only problem was that Josh had to remain in Mexico for another month until his job would become permanent and then he'll be able to go back home. It wasn't easy but with a lot of effort Matt aced his finals and was now allowed to get a job and in less than 3 weeks they will be starting the process of filing for adoption. They went on with their plan of visiting each other like this, one weekend Matt would go to his apartment in Mexico and the next weekend Josh would go back home. Before you know it Matt got a job as an article writer on a very important magazine in their town. And on top of all that Josh came back home permanently and now they could start searching for an adoption center and take care of all the legal stuff in order to get a kid. Everything went well, they submitted their file and was accepted. Of course, it couldn't have just ended there could it? Of course not, the only reason they got accepted its because they had to put their ages and if its a single parent or its a couple. But they did not ask what kind of couple. A few days after submitting they went to the adoption center for verification of their relationship. When the woman at the adoption center saw them walk into her office she said: - You do know you're not gonna get a child right? She asked while mischievously smirking - They approved our files though... - You are a same-sex couple, first of all, you are a bad example, to begin with, and second, how do we know that you are not gonna try to sexually confuse any child we're giving you? - Do you really think we'd do something to jeopardize our chances of being parents? - You jeopardized your chances of normality at being normal when you chose to be gay. The 2 boys simply stood up and left. They realized their chances of being having a child were slim to none. For some time they quit the idea of being parents and resigned to the fact that no one would just give them a baby. It all changed one day when Josh's aunt called to say that they'll be moving away but since their kid was too young they had to leave him there and they knew how much Josh and Matt struggled to obtain a child and decided to give Wyatt, their son to Matt and Josh, he was 3 weeks old so he wouldn't see much of a difference anyway. A month later Wyatt Nicholson became Wyatt Gibson. He was a baby so of course, they did not have much to work on when it came to him but they also had jobs, well, Matt had a job because when they got Wyatt they decided that Josh would be giving up on his job to take care of him. 3 people, diapers, bottles pacifiers, food, necessities. All of those included in just one salary, but one day they remembered they still hadn't sold the apartment in Mexico. They sold it and got 200.000 dollars from it. A huge changed was very noticeable in them. 1 year ago if they had that kind of money they wouldn't have hesitated to spend them on a vacation but now all they thought about was their son. For about 3 months they had nothing to worry about but it all went downhill. They went almost in-depth but luckily Josh decided to get a job but they had to hire a nanny for Wyatt and that would be one more person to give money to. The next day after they made the decision, Josh went back to his boss and got his job back and they also had to go through with interviews for a nanny. Luckily they found someone pretty quick, her name was Delilah, she was half French and in case she would be babysitting Wyatt for longer than 6 years they had a deal for her to teach Wyatt French until he'll be going to school. Now they had it all figured it out. But do you still think the story is over? Come on guys, you know me better. There has to be something more. Wanna see the actual end? Keep reading
