Chapter 6: Senior years and weddings

 New year new me, right? Wrong, I mean usually it actually is a new year a new me but for Josh is more like new year same me. Why am I saying this? Well because his senior year of high school has begun but he is not there to be a part of it. Where is he some of you might ask? It all began 3 weeks ago when he had just got out of rehab and treated his addiction and the same day he got a call from his dad's personal nurse saying he passed away due to a stroke. The news pushed him in a nervous breakdown and he became unbearable to be around and that's what pushed him over the edge and into making the decision to go back to drugs and since his body was no longer used to those substances it wasn't long till his immune system collapsed and he had an overdose. He somehow survived it and woke up in a psych ward instead of a rehab center. In there he was diagnosed with Mania and Schizophrenia. At this point, his treatment was almost over and his episodes of mania became less and less and further and further between each other and the schizophrenic phases were less and less violent. Just when he thought he lost Matt forever because he wasn't allowed to have any visitors throughout the treatment program. Now finally about 1 month he went back home and back to school trying to adjust to everything. He did not miss anything in regards to school since he was allowed to only have a laptop which he would only use for online class meetings. He did not have any social interactions besides his roommates and nurses. Now a month later he was completely sobered up and in no need to use any kind of substances to cope with what was happening in his life. However, he only had one regret, and that was not attending his dad's funeral. That's one thing he'll never be able to forgive himself for and he just has to learn to live with it. To get his mind off of everything he decided to enroll back into public school, and he and Matt were better than ever and smitten for each other. Since they couldn't make any preparations for the wedding without Josh they had to postpone it till July, and now they were both making preparations and trying to agree on everything. On top of all this, they also had to study for all the tests they had which weren't very few since they were in their senior year. IT was a new test every week. So they had both had to Make sure Josh Wouldnt fall back into his old habits and study for tests and get ready for the wedding. All this stress took kind of a tool on their relationship. They were bickering a lot more and had nights where one of them would even leave and Wouldnt come back till next morning or late at night the next day. Some might say they even had physical fights but nothing was ever proven. They kept on showing This perfect relationship but when their house doors would close the fights would be on a daily basis. That lead Josh to having panic attacks and not lose interest in any kind of social activity and before they even realized their relationship became a really toxic one where none of them would do anything besides staying home and fighting. After not long they decided to have a break but did not cancel the wedding since they loved each other so much still but couldn't live together anymore. Josh moved out and in with his other best friend, Lola, who has had a crush on him since forever. One night they were talking and all of a sudden Lola kissed him right when Matt walked to apologize for everything. He saw it all and Josh also saw that Matt came down there but didn't know why. Matt stormed outside cussing and frowning but not looking up to where he was going, he kept going but before he noticed he was hit by a car right in his fiance's eyes. Josh called 991 and Matt was taken to the hospital. There he was all put in a cast from head to toe. Josh came to visit him every day even though he was unconscious. The 2 boys have already lost a lot a school and were on the verge of failing on all classes and being expelled. Josh got many advertisements and he was told if he didn't come to school he would be expelled. He did not give a rat's ass about what the teachers were telling him and once while he was visiting Matt he noticed he was moving and called for a doctor. When the doctor walked in he was stunned. Matt was awake and considering the hit he took the chances of that were lowering with each day. But we all know that every prize comes with a sour surprise. All this time Matt was awake but did not try standing up or walking but before he even had the chance of trying it was revealed he was paralyzed from the waist down but it was not something terminally so there were chances of him walking but he had to start physical therapy right away. He immediately said ''no, to therapy because he lost all hope. The doctor gave Josh a deadline to convince Matt to start therapy. After many days of having to balance school and convincing his fiance to start therapy. After many days of going back home to find it empty or to the hospital where he would see his boyfriend and remembering he may never move again he finally decided to put an end to his suffering for the first time in 1 month he skipped a day of visiting Matt and went to the club with his classmates including his ex. After a few drinks and inhaling a couple of smokes he caved the stress and hooked up with his EX-fling from before he started dating Matt. He didn't really understand what he has done when he woke up. He just left the house and did not say a word to Matt. Right after this, he left he went back to the hospital to visit Matt and when he got there the doctor had the biggest smile of all the smiles Josh has ever seen. While Josh was not there Matt had an X-ray done and it turns out he didn't need physical therapy because his muscles were not completely damaged and he just needed a reconstruction surgery that he went through the night when Josh was with his ex. All he needs now is moral support because the recovery is long and needs a lot of hard work. Luckily he was let to go home and only had to come 2 times a week for a laser procedure to help get rid of the numbness of his muscles. He had to be in a wheelchair so he could go back to somewhat of a normal life. He went back to school and luckily his teacher understood his situation so he did not have to catch up as much as Josh had to. Somehow both of them managed to catch up as much as they could and surprisingly it enough for both of them to take their SATs. The big day but none of them were ready. They still didn't think of cheating which was surprising since in today's time cheating is the easiest ways to reach what you want whether if it is about a good great in a test or to relieve stress in a relationship and Josh was no stranger to the second option, however as i said they went the right way and put all they knew and just that. After 2 hours they both walked out of there and went home. When they got there they noticed that the house was a whole mess and there were lots of things that were missing. They called the police but had no idea that the thief was still in the house. They heard someone coughing and they asked who it is and when they saw who it was they were extremely traumatized. Not scared per se but shocked because it was Josh's mom. She escaped from the mental health facility and wanted to flee the country but Josh turned her to the police. She swore to get revenge. And that revenge did not take long to be put in action. Just when they thought everything went back to normal one day after they came from their senior year prom they found Clara's corpse at their front door. Of course, as anyone would they completely freaked out and called the police again in less than a month. The policemen got the corpse and put it back into its place. Now everything was in place including Josh's mental health and his sobriety. All they had to worry about now was their wedding, which by the way turned out just as they dreamt it. A sunset ceremony followed by one heck of a party. When all this was over they went into their Honeymoon. Do you still think the 2 boys had a private and peaceful honeymoon, after all they been through? Well you'll have to think again
