¨Hey hurry up Jupiter!! They close at 6!!¨ Jupiter followed behind her group of friends that stopped to look behind at her. She gave a small yawn and looked at her best friend who held her hands on her hips, eye balling her.
¨Scarlett, it's 5:00 o'clock."
She replied looking at her phone then back up, her eyes meeting her best friends' fierce blue ones that scowled her as if she knew better then to act like five wasn't early enough.¨Just five o'clock? Jupiter that only leaves me and Scarlett an hour to pick out a book that's worth reading and paying for!!¨
charlotte followed up after Scarlett, her hazel eyes now joining scarletts in eyeballing the girl who obviously didn't care.
She opened her mouth to talk but was interrupted by willow who came between the two wrapping her arms around each of their shoulders giving Jupiter a big smile. Her long brown hair with blonde tips in a halfway up bun, straying across the two.
¨ You know, if you keep on with this chatter it'll be closed by the time we get thereeeee¨ she said, her cheerful voice making the two look at her frantically. As if their life was going to end if they didn't make it in time.¨There just books I don't really see the point in this.¨
All four of the girls turned to look at Harper who had her arms crossed over her chest, her honey-like brown eyes narrow and annoyed looking at them below her brown bangs. Willow leaned off the other two and crossed her arms as well, turning to Harper, sticking her tongue out like a child.¨Harper just because you don't like it ,doesn't mean there isn't a point you big bully!¨ She said flicking her forehead, which caused Harper to get angry and argue back and forth with her.
Jupiter sighed. These five girls had been friends since their sophomore year. Scarlett and Jupiter though had been friends since their seventh-grade year, up until now in their senior year. Though they were all quite different they got along quite well. Scarlett was your typical mom friend, your per se, glue of the group. Willow was always getting into trouble, but it was more like boy trouble, hanging out with her was full of High fashion, never caught without makeup and lots of screaming.
Charlotte, who they usually called coco as a nickname was your bookworm. A shared interest with Scarlett in fact. She was the shyer one of the group, Harper was a bit of a bully. Your typical 'i dont give a crap about anything' type of person, but it was just her nature, Usually it was why Jupiter and Harper never got along because they were both hot-tempered and mean. Jupiter was always found getting into fights and saying things she knew would piss people off. She also was usually caught falling behind the group, like she just was. Dozing off or becoming bored quickly, but nonetheless if anything she was the group's bodyguard.¨whatever come on.¨ Jupiter said, pushing between the two arguing girls. Harper gave her an eye roll, but reluctantly followed behind. Currently, the five girls were walking along the sidewalk to an old book and music store that Scarlett and Charlotte suggested going to. It was all they had been going on about, saying over and over it was only open on mondays, wednesdays and fridays, so they had to go today. Jupiter rested her hands behind her neck as she walked beside Scarlett and Charlotte who just chatted about what books they were searching for. She was never much of a book person. In fact, she hated school, especially the reading part of it. She saw it as pointless.
Jupiter stopped walking when they reached the old but vintage store. The sign in glass neon lettering read 'Smiths book and cd shop'. Its walls were made out of brick, and veins traveling up the wall in a man made manner. You could tell that they were planted and well maintained on the regular. It as well had double doors and a bell on the right handle and of course, a paper sign that read "open from 6-6:00pm." The two girls who had been walking beside her nearly sprinting through the doors , disappearing into an endless world of shelves, books, CDs and records.
She adjusted her black hair into a high ponytail, The two platinum blonde pieces that outlined the strands where her part met, falling to each side of her face as she pushed through the doors following behind the other girls who wandered around to different sections. She shoved her hands into her jean pockets and walked aimlessly, her eyes skimming through the shelves. Her right eye was a hazel like color, with specks of green and yellow while her left eye was a lighter blue, a clear blue, like scarletts were. Heterochromia is what it was called.
