"What are you doing?" Owen asked leaning against the doorway as he watched the short girl stand on a chair and take down the posters hung on the wall.
"Taking these down, what does it look like?" She said not looking at him at all as she threw one down on the floor. She stepped down and moved it aside, stepping back up on it to yet again to tear another one down.
"Is this how you're going to spend your Saturday?"
"Sorry I just prefer to sleep without girls in bikinis staring at me while I sleep." She gave a sarcastic smile and tore another one down to the floor leaning closer to the wall to remove the tacks.
"Right well, I have somewhere to go. Try not to tear the walls down too." Owen turned around and Jupiter stepped off the chair.
"Wait- where are you going?"
"Curious are we?" Jupiter crossed her arms at the boy who raised an eyebrow.
"No. Fine don't tell me I don't care." Owen paused a moment and he wanted to tell her. He was going to, but he offered a sigh instead and turned around.
"I'll be back later, call me if you need anything." He walked away and Jupiter scoffed.
"I won't!" She called after as he began to walk back down the hall. As his footsteps faded she sighed and turned back around. Her hands on her hips as she stared at the wall. There were at least five more she needed to take down.
She sighed and proceeded to take down each poster one by one. It took her at least 15 minutes to take the tacks along with them that wanted to be difficult. When she finished She walked over to the window and opened them to let the sun and the slight breeze of the cool spring wind, air out the room of its dead Stuffy smell. She then tied her long hair into a High ponytail to keep it from getting out of her face. She found cleaning so relaxing sometimes, she never usually got the chance to clean in her own home, being that she tended to never go home, or tried her best to stay away.
Jupiter proceeded to make the bed, folding the top of the blanket at the top of the bed and placed the pillows symmetrically beside each other. She then began to fold the posters she had ripped down from the wall into rolls to throw them away when she heard an unfamiliar voice.
"Aw man you took off all my favorite posters."
Jupiter quickly turned her head at the deep voice nearly falling back from how startled she was. She dropped the posters from her hand. Her eyes were met with big emerald green eyes that looked down at her from the doorway. Dark black curly hair that ever so slightly covered his forehead. In his right hand he held a big duffel bag she assumed were full of clothes.
Her mind immediately flicked to the picture of Owen and his brother. Could...this be him?
He was way bigger than in the picture, looked taller, his shoulders were bigger and the white college shirt he wore seemed to define everything underneath.
"Uh I'm sorry who are you?" Jupiter stood up straight now composing herself from her startle picking up the posters she dropped. The tall boy stepped into the room throwing a duffle bag he carried onto the bed.
"I was going to ask you, the same question gorgeous.some strange girl in the middle of my room taking down my posters? I'm rather both confused and intrigued." He stepped towards her with his hands in the dark jeans he wore. He continued.
"The names Alex, Alex Santiago? I hope you've heard of me, or I'm going to have to talk to that little brother of mine." He offered a small grin.
"Uh somewhat." She said holding the posters to her chest.
"That's just like him." He shook his head as if he wasn't surprised. "So what's your name? Are you owens girlfriend? If so I'd think he upgraded from that other one. Personally, she looked like an owl."
