Jupiters eyes remained shut as she sat back in the seat of her car. She was currently waiting in the driveway of Scarlett's house for everyone else to arrive to surprise her with a feel better gift they all pitched in. It was already wednesday and she hadn't showed up to either work or school. So,they made her a basket with her favorite snacks and a card from all of them, that jupiter mostly wrote and the others just signed, which sat in the back of jupiter's car.
Normally she was the one always late, but today she was early and it made her realize why she liked being late. She opened her eyes ever so slightly lifting her phone up to look at the time, 5:06pm. It wasn't like Scarlett to just disappear like she had, it made Jupiter worry. She closed her eyes again. Her mind wandered to that night once again, sense then she hadn't seen jackson around school either. Nor had she talked to Owen, though that might have been her own fault. She couldn't gain the courage to.
She then jumped at a sudden knocking at her window. She opened her eyes rather quickly, her hand immediately covering her heart, in relief when she saw owen on the other side of the glass. She rolled the window down and furrowed her eyebrows.
"Can i help you?" she said leaning her chair back from her previous slouching. Owen looked up at the sky and then back at her as he rested his forearm on the top of her car.
"Pretty sure it's gonna rain, wanna let me in?"
"If you knew it was going to rain why didn't you stay in your car?" she asked. Owen shrugged.
"Cause you're not in there." was it her or was he too charming for his own good, and though nothing more than a gentle, calm expression crossed his face. His words always held something. Something she didn't seem to understand.
"Whatever , go ahead." she said to him before rolling her window back up. She watched him walk to the passenger side , opening it and ducking to fit his tall self into her car. As he sat down, a waft of a soft pleasant cologne and laundry detergent freshened her senses from the smell of her car that she had grown blind to. Even the way he smelled was perfect.
"Why does it smell like cookies in here.'' Jupiter raised an eyebrow to his comment. She hadn't really noticed what it smelt like in her car. Mostly because she had been in it for so long.
"Oh, uh yeah sorry sometimes when i get bored i make cookies in here."
"Oh yeah? Well That's a totally normal thing to do." Jupiter chuckled to herself and leaned back into her seat looking up at the top of her car.The soft faint sound of rain began to tap her roof. Sprinkling only lightly, offering a calm pitter-patter.
"You look better." Jupiter turned to look at him.
"What do you mean?"
"Your face, your injuries look better." Jupiter touched her face, where her black eye now was a faint yellow and green. Her lip was already almost completely healed, and her nose was probably the worst still, covered with a bandaid across the bridge of it, but was still better than it was before. Jupiter laughed through her throat looking at her steering away away from him.
"Yeah I suppose."
"What did Scarlett think about it?"
"She hates when I get into fights, so she was upset."
"Oh so you get into fights often?" He asked turning his body, his back now on the door facing his body to her.
"Well I wouldn't say often, but a few."
"Right." Jupiter's head turned back to him from her gaze away.
"Have you ever fought anyone?"
