Chapter 8:First Day PART 2

Deano's P.O.V:

I feel terrible for Ruby. She couldn't go with Troy so she stayed with me in the Tower. Still curled up in a ball, sobbing on top of the cabinets. Hoppo gave her the rest of the day off, but the hospital was half and hour away in a car, so she was going with me when I finish at the end of the day. I needed to get her down. She was so small and helpless, even though she was 15. What made things worse was the fact that the Bondi Rescue camera crew wanted to film her. It was the first day of filming and they needed to interview her for the show. They kept trying to get in but I wouldn't hear of it. I told her to hide up there so  that's where she's been the whole time afterwards. I decided to get to know her more.

"So," I say. Her head shoots up, showing her pale, tear stricken face, "first of all, are you ok?" I feel really worried for her. She looks terrible.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she says. I frown.

"You, sure?" she nods.

"Well, where are you from?" I ask, she looks thoughtful, then looks at me, with serious eyes., and speaks to me in a low, but still shaky voice.

"Can I trust you?" Her hazel eyes pierce into my mind. I just nod.

She nods, "I'm from another world," My eyes open wide, "I was meant to be Queen, but I didn't want to, so I ran away." She choked back tears when it started pouring down rain.

"Your secret is safe with me." I smiled. I grabbed her in for a hug when all of the Lifeguards burst in. Ruby giggled.

"Hi Ruby!" Harrison says. "I'm sure Troy is okay!" she smiles. It was crowded with me, Ruby, Harrison, Whippet, Hoppo, Corey, H and Jethro. (A/N, I know this isn't right but they are both crucial parts of the story).

"Tell us a bit more about yourself," Corey says. All the boys look at her. For the first time since the incident, Ruby smiled.

"I have great balance?" She asks, hoping that's what they meant.

"Prove it!" Jethro said. He was the trainee last year, but is one of the most colorful personalities here. Ruby giggled.

"Okay," she jumped onto the railing next to the stairs, and started spinning! Round and round, then she flipped onto her hands!

"STOP! STOP! You're making me dizzy!" H, the oldest member of the team, shouted. Ruby giggled and everyone just laughed. I turned around to see the camera's again, they just won't stop! Ruby looked over too.

"Guess I just give em' what they want!" she smiled at me. They walked out of the tower to underneath it.

Ruby's P.O.V:

"Okay!" the camera man says, "this is Ben Davies, the director. He points to a man with a black hat on.

"Hi Ruby, I'm Ben, now all I need you to do is say your age, where you live and what you like best about Bondi." He says. I nod. We finish in one clean take.

"Thanks!" he says, I quickly run back up to the tower. I look around. Deano was on his laptop, Corey and Hoppo were watching the water, Whippet was watching something on his phone, Harrison, Jethro and H were playing Uno (Or trying to with H asking a question every second. I sit next to Harrison. He looks up from his game and grabs my hand.

"I forfeit," he declares, stands up and pulls me away to the medical area. He looks at me, "I want to know how you feel, I really do." A lump forms in my throat, "and I don't want you to feel more pressure." I'm definitely confused. "I like you Ruby, I really do. From the moment I laid my eyes on you." I was about to tell him that I'm with Troy, but he beat me to it. "I know that your with Troy but I still want to be with you more than anything in the world." He looked down. I spoke for the first time.

"Thank you, and, I'm sorry but I'm with Troy now." I hug him and Deano shouts out.

"OH MY GOD!" He screams. Everyone turns and Harrison comes around the corner.

"What!" I find myself shouting back and looking over his shoulder. "Bondi Rescue star in Hospital after almost fatal accident! How'd they figure that out so fast!?" I shouted, rage filling inside of me. They look at me with sympathy. My eyes fill with tears. Jethro hugs me, a bit too hard. "Can't, Breathe, Jethro!" He laughs and lets me go.

"Guys," Whippet says over everyone's laughing, "he hasn't any broken ribs and was half starved of oxygen." he says. "But other than that, he is right to be discharged tomorrow." I smile. At least he's okay." I sigh with relief. 2 more hours until I get to see him.

Troy's P.O.V:

I wake up in a room by myself. Sitting myself up, I look around. Nobody is here. I see an unattached drip next to me. Great, Hospital, I think to myself. I get out of bed and walk to the window. Bondi was just in sight. I longed to just walk down there but it's 30 minutes in a car! I sit back down on the bed when the door opens. Deano, Ruby, Hoppo, H, Jethro, Harrison and Maxi walk in. I smile at them and hug Ruby.

"You scared us!" Ruby exclaims, breaking the uncomfortable silence. I laugh.

"You scared us when you ended up here!" I shoot back. Everyone laughs and Ruby fake-pouts. Then giggles too.

"How are ya mate?" Maxi asks. I nod.

"Great!" I exclaim. Hoppo chuckles and a nurse comes in. She smiles. Harrison freezes. He looked amazed. She had light brown hair, dark brown eyes, no freckles and was about 150cm tall.

"Hi!" she says, "I'm Antania, but you can call me Tania." I smiled. Ruby whispered into my ear.

"I think he's over me already!" I nod. Still listening to Tania.

"You are ok to be discharged today." she smiles.

"When are you free?" Ruby asks, winking at me, she looks thoughtful.

"Tomorrow. Why?" she asks. Ruby smiles.

"I want to thank you for helping my boyfriend." Tania nods.

"I'll be there," she says, leaving the room. We soon leave the hospital.

What a day.
