CHAPTER I

Galactic unrest! General LEIA ORGANA of the RESISTANCE has been given a message about a man with a map to the missing LUKE SKYWALKER. She prepares to send one of her best pilots to retrieve it.

The son of the General and HAN SOLO, has turned to the Dark side and now commands the nefarious FIRST ORDER under his new identity, KYLO REN. The General is desperate to bring him home.

In the absence of her brother Luke, General Organa has trained a new apprentice in the ways of the Force. JEDHA CALRISSIAN, raised by Mayor LANDO of CLOUD CITY, could be the last hope for restoring the Jedi religion and bringing balance to the galaxy.

34 ABY

It's been four years since Jedha has joined the Resistance

Those four years have consisted of training with Leia, recruiting with Poe and Kaydel, more training, giving younglings lessons in piloting, and more training.

Jedha loves the Resistance. She feels right at home with the misfits and outcasts of the galaxy. She loves that no matter who you are or where you're from, the Resistance always welcomes people of every species with open arms. Not that they really have the option to turn people away, they're not the most impressive military organization the galaxy's ever seen.

Training under master Leia has brought a new sense of purpose to Jedha's life. It was difficult for her to understand and connect to the Force at first, mostly because she knew next to nothing about it before then. Now, however, she has a deeper appreciation of the energy that binds the universe together.

The main goal of the Resistance has been recruiting for many years. But now that the threat of the First Order has risen, General Leia has made it their priority to find Luke Skywalker, and bring him home to save the galaxy. She's sent Jedha's best friend Poe to find the ally who has the map, and while Jedha was nervous to see him go as she always is, she has faith that he'll be alright. No one else knows about the map.

Right?

Their goodbye had been short and sweet, neither of them wanting to accept the possible fate of the mission.

"Hey," Jedha yells to him as he strolls towards his X-Wing fighter.

Poe turns around and smiles. "Yeah J?"

"Just... don't die, Dameron." Her worried eyes betraying her smile.

"I'll try my hardest, kid." He winks at her, and she salutes him with two fingers.

He returns the gesture before walking back towards his ship.

A few seconds later, A ball of orange and white whizzes past her at the speed of light. Poe's droid, Beebee- Ate, calls out to her with a series of beeps and coos.

"Bye Jedha, we'll miss you!"

She chuckles and yells back, "Bye BeeBee-Ate, take care of Poe for me will ya?"

The droid beeps something that resembles an "affirmative." And just like that, the hangar doors open, the room is filled with the familiar sound of a ship starting its engines, and Jedha watches with longing as Poe flies out of the hangar and into the vast expanse of space.

She stands there for a few minutes more with her own droid, BeeBee-Three, feeling the Force and trusting that whatever it wills, will be. After calming her nerves, she senses Leia's presence moving closer.
