2. Back in Hero Action

I woke up and did the same routine as yesterday, though it differed for I didn't have to be UA High unless I was called in seeing how I was only a substitute teacher. Toshinori and I had left the apartment at the same time as yesterday, though we went separate ways with him going down the stairs and walking towards the school while I went to the rooftop and flew off, casually soaring through the air.

As noon came around, I flew down to the ground and landed before casually walking, looking at all the food places. As my eyes flickered to every restaurant and food stand, my stomach growled as I smelled all the cooking food, but every placed looked packed to the max. I groaned and took a seat on a near by bench. "So hungry...maybe I should go back to the apartment, but it's so far away." I cried to myself. I heard the distant sound of chains rattling followed by massive screams. I jumped off the bench and flew straight to the source of the screaming civilians.

I landed on a fire escape on a near-by building and spotted a man with chains protruding from his back and wiggling around like tentacles. The thing that alarmed me the most was one of the chains was wrapped around a woman's throat, choking her as she cried and squirmed. My eyes bounced around, taking in the area, the crowd, and the villain along with the hostage. I jumped off the fire escape and quickly flew towards the villain and hostage, mainly aiming at the hostage. Within the blink of an eye and in slow motion, I was in front of her and wrapped my arms around her body, holding her close to me as tilted my head at an angle. I opened my mouth and bit down on the chain, breaking it and continued flying straight forward as time felt like it resumed as I jetted through the sky. I quickly landed in front of a store, covering the entrance with my wings as a person opened the door and helped the woman inside, removing the chain from her neck. I heard the rattling chains again and heard it cut through the air, towards me. I quickly spun around and grabbed the chain. I came face to face with the villain and he looked like a man completely unhinged with his insane smile, blood-shot eyes, and untamed hair.

"Seems like I caught a prize today!" He grinned. "A bird ready to be chained and be a caged birdie!"

I rolled eyes and wrapped the chain more around my arm, watching his eyes shift into confusion. I smirked and yanked my arm, making him fly towards me. I pulled back my other arm and swung it towards his face, my fist colliding with his face as I quickly unwrapped the chains from my arm as he flew backwards and collided with a building wall. I waited a few seconds to see if he would get back up and when he failed to, I made my way over to him and removed him from the wall. I wrapped him in his own chains then placed my heeled foot his back as a civilian had opened a building door to inform me the police were on their way.

Istarted hearing clapping and looked around as people were clapping and cheeringwith their phones in their hands as they took pictures and recorded me. Ismiled softly and waved as people started pouring out of the buildings, but onecaught my eye as she moved through the crowd. It was the hostage woman. Shemoved through the crowd and stood in front of me, the marking around her neckhighly visible to me along with her red, puffy eyes. She looked at me as tearsstarted to form in her eyes as she bowed to me. "Thank you! Thank you forsaving my life, Nike!" She cried, catching me a bit off guard since I wouldhave thought people would have forgotten about me since I hadn't been in themedia for some years. I smiled softly and removed my foot from the villain asthe police showed up and walked up to the woman, hugging her.
