9. Sports Festival

Today was the Sports Festival and I was put on stage duty with Midnight. I stood on stage with Midnight as the stadium filled up with people and Pro-Heroes scouting for students for internships. "This brings this you back doesn't it?" Midnight asked. "Being a student and feeling all the eyes of people and heroes looking to scout you?"

I hummed in agreement. "It sure does."

Midnight hummed and smiled softly. "I remember when you were in the sports festival as a student." She started. "Toshinori, Hizashi, and Shota all sat in the crowds, cheering you on and arguing with each other over how you would beat each round."

I smiled softly and chuckled softly. "Yeah...and I clearly remember Hizashi crying and saying I was corrupt while you cheered me on when Mirko and I came out dressed in cheerleader outfits during the break."

Midnight laughed and wiped a tear from her eye. "Oh yeah! Shota and Toshinori just stayed silent and shielded their eyes." She laughed as Present Mic came over the speakers, echoing throughout the stadium.

Midnight rolled her eyes and waved to everyone in the stands with a smile on her faces, making the guys in the stands get nosebleeds. I shake my head softly, chuckling as I wave to the audience and spread my wings, making the crowd go wild and chant my name.

The classes were soon called out with it starts from the businesses classes, the support classes, the general studies classes, and then lastly the hero classes. It was apparent that Present Mic favored Class 1-A from the way he went from bored and mono-tone to excited and over the top.

"Geez way to make the others feel loved, Hizashi." I muttered under my breath. "Now for student from Katsuki Bakugo from Class 1-A!" I announced through the microphone.

I watched as everyone in Class 1-A faces dropped with a sad and disappointed aura came over them as Bakugo walked through his classmates and up towards the stage. I heard some of the other students whispering harsh words directed at Class 1-A and Bakugo. Hearing and feeling all this tense, I wondered what the hell I had missed the day after the USJ incident when classes still continued for the day before the break.

Bakugo walked up to the microphone stand with his hands in his pocket and huffed, looking out into the crowd boredly. "I am number one!"

I watched as Class 1-A all cried as he said that, making the apparent target on them larger in the eyes of the other students. Midnight continued to smile and took the microphone, throwing her arm in the air. "Let's give it up for the contestants!" She cheered, making the crowd cheer as Bakugo walked off the stage. "Without further ado, let's get started!"

We both smiled as the large screen light up. "The first fateful game of the festival is..." I paused, looking at the screen to choose the game. The screen stopped on an Obstacle Race. "An obstacle race! What fun!" I winked. "All eleven classes will participate in this event with the track being outside the stadium and four kilometres. Students can do whatever they want as along as they stay on the track. If you leave the track, you will be restrained by either myself or Midnight and be disqualified!"

Midnight licked her lips and pointed at the exit with her whip. "Now then, take your places contestants!" She ordered and everyone rushed to the exit. She looked over at me and grinned as I grinned back. "You gonna get an aerial view once they start going?"

"Well of course...gotta go restrain some students." I smirked, rolling my shoulders.

"Three!" Midnight started to count off.

"Two!" I joined.

"One!"

"GO!" She shouted in unison.

"AND WE START OFF WITH A BANG!" Present Mic announced.

I smirked and opened my wings, taking off into the air, flying outside the stadium and above the track. I could see Todoroki had frozen most of the other students in his ice at the entrance with only a handful of others who managed to escape the ice, most of them being from Class 1-A. I saw the others stopped in fear and awe as they hard Bakugo screech Todoroki's name with pure hate as he used his explosions to catch up with Todoroki.

"Damn...and I thought my screech was scary." I joked to myself as I watched Mineta stick himself onto Yamamorzu's back with his sticky hair orbs and Todoroki freezing the robots, still taking the lead. I watched in horror was one of the robots fell on Kirishima and another student and was about to fly down to get them until I saw them bust out of the robot using quirks that were quite similar. "Hm...they must be distant cousins or something...or just pure coincidence." I shrugged my shoulders before continuing to glide over the track. I glided over the canyon and saw Asui using her frog-like instincts to keep her balance on the rope while a support student, Mei, used her boots to fly over the canyon. I glided over the mines and watched as Midoriya was holding a piece of metal and I titled my head in confusion until I saw him dig up the mines and put them in a hole. "Ooooh you clever clever boy. No wonder Toshinori picked you to be his successor." I hummed to myself and watched him slam the metal onto the mines, making him fly into the air and soar. I smiled and flew by him. "Hi Midoriya. Nice thinking. And nice thinking time too. Quick and on your feet."

Midoriya's face turned red. "T-Thank you, Nike."

I smiled softly and patted his hair. "No problem, kiddo. Well I should let you get back to the race. Good luck." I waved and flew ahead of Midoriya as he started to fall back down to the ground. I continued to glide until I felt the pain again and flew into the stadium, landing next to Midnight.

"Did you have to restrain anyone?" Midnight asked and I shook my head.

"No. If I did you would have already heard it from Present Mic announcing it." I said, wincing as I closed my wings.

"Hush! Here comes the first place winner!" Midnight beamed as she looked at the entrance.

Ilooked towards the entrance and saw Midoriya come out of the tunnel into thestadium followed by Todoroki and Bakugo, who proceeded to lose his shit asPresent Mic announced Midoriya as the first place winner of the obstacle race.
