"YOU MET THE NUMBER 3 HERO LAST NIGHT?!" Neumi shouted, slamming her hands on the desk.
I flinched as I continued to look through police reports, statements, and documents that were recorded before and the campus infiltration yesterday by the reporters. "Yes I do. He's...quite the character." I said, looking through the documents before glancing up to see a smile and lovestruck look on her face. "Oh...no. Nemui...no."
"Oh Neumi yes!" She beamed. "You finally found yourself a boyfriend! A boyfriend whose a bird like you! An extremely handsome, attractive, and high ranking bird boyfriend!" She beamed, wiggling around in a weird worm like dance with hearts in her eyes.
I rolled my eyes as continued looking through documents. "You literally say that every time I tell you I met a guy."
"That's because you are such a beautiful birdie." She sung.
"Didn't she do this when you became friends with Hizashi and Aizawa?" Toshinori asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
Neumi sat back in her chair. "Not with Hizashi, because I didn't completely ship that seeing as how she would kill him for his loud voice hurting her sensitive ears." She said, poking my ears. "Now Aizawa...maybe I did. I don't remember." She said tapping her chin.
"You did." Aizawa groaned from his sleeping bag. "Even more when I helped design her final hero costume."
I hummed and continued scanning through documents. "Why are you even looking through those documents?" Neumi asked. "You should be focusing on your love-life before you end up like...Aizawa."
I looked up from the documents and looked over at Aizawa before shrugging my shoulders. "I take that as a compliment. Besides if it comes down to that I'll marry Aizawa."
"W-what?!" Neumi screamed. "No! You absouletly will not!"
"Yet you were all for the idea back then." Aizawa groaned.
"That was then! This is now!" She argued. "I want to be an aunt and god-mother to my birdie's chickies! And you'll be too tired to even give me that!" She argued before turning to Toshinori and Hizashi. "Come on, guys! Help me out here! Toshi, don't you want nieces and nephews?"
Toshinori shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not about to butt into her love life. Who she marries and has kids with is up to her."
Neumi sighed and turned to Hizashi, who held his hands out saying he didn't want to get into it. Neumi sighed and leaned back into her chair. "Since we basically have two weeks off, well really a week off since the second week we need to set up for the sports festival, what will you being doing?" She asked, looking at me.
I sighed and looked from the documents to my phone. "Well I have a couple of apartments to tour. Why?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.
Neumi smiled and rolled her chair over to mine. "Let me join you. Please." She begged.
I sighed and lowered my head. "I'll let you decorate it instead."
She smiled and hugged me. "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!" She cried, causing me and the others to sweatdrop.
That night I slept in my hammock. I slightly rolled back and forth, making the hammock slightly rock. Soon my body temperature increased as I felt the heat of flames. The sound of my heart beating louder and louder in my ears like a drum as I heard screams around me. I heard a loud bird screech and I shot up in my hammock. I felt my forehead and felt sweat. I reached over to my bedside table and grabbed the pill bottle, opening it and seeing it was empty. I silently cursed at myself, putting the pill bottle down.
I climbed out of my hammock and went over to the window, looking down at the city lights. I grabbed my keys and put on some pants, slowly leaving the apartment.
I soared high in the sky, enjoying the breeze going through my feathers and kissing my skin. I smiled softly as I enjoyed the breeze and looked below at the city lights. I felt myself getting tired and landed on the edge of a tower. I looked down at city lights more and felt myself relaxing more.
"Enjoying the view?" I jumped hearing a male voice before looking behind me and seeing Hawks. "Whoa! Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you." He said before walking over to me and taking a seat next to me. "What are you doing out so late? Plus you don't look like you're on duty or hitting a night on the town."
I looked down at myself to see I was in a baggy black shirt with leggings. "I...I just had trouble sleeping is all." I answered. "Normally I take medication once it happens to go back to sleep, but...I forgot I needed a refill."
I heard Hawks hum beside me. "Well...you seem relaxed." He pointed out. "But I don't blame you for flying out this late...night time flying cures sleep problems and nightmares. Take that advice from a fellow bird." I looked at him, analyzing how his eyes looked far off and distant before looking at me from the corner of his eye, his face becoming relaxed. "Dove."
I tilted my head in confusion. "Dove?" I asked before remembering last night at the bar. "No. Not even close."
"Darn." Hawks playfully pouted. "Can you give me a hint?"
I playfully tapped my chin before shrugging. "Hmm...nope!" I grinned as Hawks pouted.
The rest of the night we talked and laughed until the sun started to rise. I gasped softly as a smile spread on my face, making my wings flutter. "Never seen a sunrise?" Hawks asked.
"I haven't seen one in so long. The last time I saw a sunrise was...four years ago. Maybe even longer." I said.
"Then let's watch the sunrise and then I'm escorting you home." Hawks said and I nodded my head. We sat their in silence, watching the sun slowly raise and I feel my eyelids grow heavy, my head resting on Hawks' shoulder.
