I woke feeling the softness of the mattress underneath me. My eyes shot open and I looked around, realizing I wasn't in my room or my room. I heard footsteps coming towards the door of the room. I opened my wings in a threatening manner as I listened to the footsteps while looking around the room, calculating how to fight back and escape. The door opened and Hawks stood there in casual clothing by the fact he was in a white t-shirt and red sweatpants. He stared at me like a deer in headlights before his usual goofy smile returned to his face. "Morning, sleeping beauty!"

I stood in Hawks' living room, looking out the balcony windows and glass door as my face deadpanned. "You know it's nighttime right?" I asked as I heard a door open then close as a smell of something fried.

"That hurts that you would insult my intelligence." Hawks cried dramatically making me rolls my eyes. "It would have been weird to say night when you just woke up, you know?"

I nodded my head and turned around, seeing him start to pull out containers from a KFC bag. "Chicken, huh? I should have guessed that with you." I pointed out, walking towards the island counter.

"What can I say? I'm a hawk and us hawks love chicken." He grinned, making me chuckle and roll my eyes. "What? Don't like chicken?"

"Oh no, I do. I just don't eat it religious like you do apparently." I said as I watched him open the containers, placing them in the center of the island. "Should I be calling you Chicken Hawks then since you love chicken?"

"You can call me whatever you want, babe." He winked, making me shake my head as I chuckle.

He slid a container over to me while handing me utensils. "Thanks." I took the utensils and opened the container. "Have I been asleep all day?" I asked as I stirred my rice around.

He nodded his head as he took a bite of his chicken leg. "Yeah. I would have taken you home, but...I didn't know where you lived and you didn't have any ID on you or cellphone."

"I'm sorry for making you take time out of your hero duties." I apologized.

He shook his head. "Don't sweat over it. Besides I've been meaning to take a day off." He said, taking another bite of his chicken.

"Why didn't you just wake me up?"

He stopped eating and looked at me. "You honestly looked like you needed the sleep...like as if you haven't slept in years."

I stopped stirring my rice and looked down at the container. "Yeah." I sighed before starting to eat, the room becoming silent as I felt Hawks' eyes analyzing me.

"Thanks again for dinner and letting me crash here." I thanked as I threw the last container into the trash can.

"Again, it's nothing." Hawks said. "Though are you sure want to go home at this hour? Don't you think it would be safer for you to just stay the night?"

"I can take care of myself. I'm Nike after all." I stated as I walked over to his balcony doors. "Besides, my brother is probably worried about me by now." I opened the doors and walked out onto the balcony.

I heard Hawks follow behind me. "Oh? So Nike has a brother?" He intrigued.

I cursed at myself and looked over my shoulder at him, seeing him leaning against the balcony door frame. "I do and we're practically each other's caregivers, so I have to get home and make sure he's alright."

Hawks' face softened even more as he moved off the door frame. "I understand. But wait here for a second." Hawks said, going inside. He came back out shortly with his hero jacket in his hands. "Here."

"But...but this is your hero jacket. Why?" I asked, looking back and forth between Hawks and the jacket.

Hawks smiled softly. "Well...you just seemed peacefully with my jacket." He said. "Plus, you wouldn't let go of my jacket as you slept." He grinned, making me blush. "Now take it. It would make me feel better if you took it to have a peaceful sleep like today. Plus I have spare jackets."

I looked between Hawks and his jacket before taking it. "Fine, but if it doesn't help me sleep peacefully then I'm bringing your jacket back." I said, opening my wings and flapping them.

"Oh? Gonna trade the jacket in for me as a sleeping buddy?" Hawks teased, making me blush more.

I flew off Hawks' balcony and headed back to Toshinori and I's shared apartment. Once I landed on the rooftop of the apartment complex, I saw a red feather sticking out of one of the pockets. I reached into the pocket, pulling out the red feather with a note attached to it.

"Text me when you made it home to your coop. -Hawks XXX-XXX-XXXX"
