I can not remember if i was still in highschool or already in college when I experience my first conscious astral projection. I just got home and i was so tired that I went straight to my room and flopped on my bed face up. I closed my eyes and immediately tried to relax myself and started the astral projection exercise. Again i was able to reach the part where my heartbeat went crazy. Feeling exhausted, I stopped the exercise. When my heartbeat finally returned to normal, I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling. I felt so calm and relaxed... then it just started... my vision started spinning, as if my body is floating up in spiral motion at a fast speed. Suddenly I am out of my physical body. I was hovering above my bed. I can not remember if saw my physical body. All i can think of was i did it! I was out! I did not waste any time and flew down passing through walls and everything. I have just flown several yards away from our house when I realized I was just at the "Threshold." It is the term used in the book to describe the dimension between the physical (Third) and the Fourth.
I thought the word Threshold was rather significant in the realm of the occult because in the D&D Expert manual, Threshold is also the name of the town where the Players start their adventure! The Expert manual is where Players begin exploring the worlds outside of a dungeon. It is guide book for Dungeon Masters to start running wilderness campaigns and explore new worlds. Realizing that I was still at the Threshold, I made a conscious effort to reach the Astral plane, the Fourth dimension. Not knowing how, I decided to fly straight up. It felt I was moving very fast. Wisp of clouds were passing by me. But when I was about hundreds of feet up, everything began to get blurry and dark. Then suddenly, I find myself starring at the ceiling again. "WHOA!" I said to myself, "What just happened?!?"
Was it just a dream? But the continuity of my consciousness was remarkable. I never felt I have lost consciousness. From the moment my vision started spinning until everything went blurry again and found myself starring back at the ceiling took just a few seconds (I actually did not check the time). I was really excited. I did not do anymore astral projection that night, but I have already set my mind to do it again the following night.
