"Are you seriously playing Poker Face because you hope it will wake Barry up?"
Cisco scoffed. "You say that like I'm crazy."
"That's probably because you are," I remarked, smirking.
He huffed over the phone, "Yeah, crazy genius!"
I shook my head, wondering why I was friends with this idiot. "Well, I got to go. The principal is getting anxious. He wants to get the school pictures done by lunch."
"Alright," Cisco sighed dramatically. "I'll let you go. But we are still having that Star Wars marathon on Friday, okay? No excuses, Nat."
"No excuses," I agreed.
We said our goodbyes and hung up. Cisco Ramon had become one of my best friends over the last eight months since Barry was transferred to Star Labs. Also, Caitlin Snow became a good friend, too. However, it took a while for her to open up to me. After she had lost her fiancé from the Particle Accelerator explosion, Caitlin froze everyone out and focused on keeping her emotions in check. But we found common ground and were able to get close to one another.
But, above all was Iris West. Joe was right, saying that she and I would absolutely love each other. She's been like the sister I never had. We've gotten really close because of Barry. Both Iris and Joe have been struggling to continue going day-to-day without Barry around, so they've been relying on me to check on him. When he was at the hospital, I was there whenever Joe or Iris couldn't, whether I was in uniform or sitting by Barry's bedside. And I made sure to keep visiting too when he was moved to Star Labs.
"Miss King?"
I snapped out of my thoughts, spinning around. Principal Bennett was standing behind me, shifting on his feet.
"Shall we start?" He asked me, annoyed by me being distracted on the phone.
I would snap at him, but I needed the money so I had to let it go. The next few hours I spent taking graduation pictures for Bennett's high school. When it was over, I happily accepted my paycheck from the cranky principal and headed to the bank to deposit it into my account.
Heading over to the line, a man bumped into me roughly. I silently gasped at the rush of power enter my body from where the man made contact with my arm. I could feel a surge of anger and greed surrounding him.
In a few moments, the emotions I felt faded away but I could still sense them coming from the man in front of me. I followed behind him into the line and waited, watching him out of the corner of my eye.
When it was the man's turn, he headed to the counter and slipped a piece of paper to one of the employees. The woman looked confused by what was on it. I was about to go over to see if something was wrong, but then the man raised his arms to the side and wind started to whistle throughout the bank.
