Later, I was just sliding into bed when my cell phone started ringing. It was ten thirty so I wasn't expecting to get a call so late at night.

When I glanced over my phone, it was a number I didn't recognize or had saved in my contacts. Still, I decided to answer in case it was a potential client.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Natalie," a voice said on the other line. A voice that was familiar.

"Wha--Barry? Is that you?" I raised my eyebrows in surprise.

"Yeah, sorry to call so late. I didn't wake you, did I?" Barry asked.

I shook my head even though he couldn't see me. "No, no. It's fine, I'm still up. How-How did you get my number?"

"Iris," Barry answered.

"Oh," I chuckled lightly. "Of course."

"I just wanted to call and tell you that you gave me some really good advice. It helped me a lot."

I sat up in bed, giving my full attention to Barry. "Really? I'm glad. What happened?"

"I..." Barry trailed off for a moment. "I believed in myself. Joe finally came around and supported me. I wasn't sure I was doing the right thing, but now I'm positive I am."

"Good," I smiled, happy that I could help him.

"Hey, Iris and I are going to see a movie tomorrow night," He mentioned, hesitating. "Would you like to come too?"

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "Oh, I'd be happy to. Sure. What time should I meet you guys there?"

"The movie starts at eight, but Iris and I usually get there fifteen minutes early," Barry told me cheerily.

"So you don't miss the previews and get the best popcorn?" I asked, smirking. I knew Iris wouldn't care about any of that, but Barry seemed like the type of guy to.

"How-how did you know?" Barry stuttered, embarrassed.

I chuckled, saying, "Call it a lucky guess. I'll see you tomorrow, Barry. Save me a seat." With that I hung up, grinning to myself. It wasn't a date, not at all. But it still made me unbelievably happy that Barry asked me to come.

The movie pretty much sucked.

I didn't regret accepting Barry's invitation one bit though; I was excited that I got to spend time with not just Iris, but also him. Barry and I were still adjusting to one another. We haven't had any other talks since yesterday, but I was excited to get to know him better.

As we were walking out of the theater, Barry started talking between Iris and I, "Regular movie scale, that was a seven or an eight. Zombie movie scale, it was, like, a four, tops."
