I stood in front of my full-length mirror, glancing over my outfit. I was wearing a black and red floral dress-- not too fancy, but still a nice casual look. I had went over fifteen different dresses, trying to find the perfect one. I paired the dress with opened toed black heels and pearl earrings. Leaving my hair in natural waves, I grabbed my purse and headed out of my house.

I got into my car and headed towards the West household. Mentally, I was not prepared to have dinner with Barry while Joe and Iris watched us. But I knew it was time. I had to just get it over with. Besides, the dinner might be fine.

I parked near the curb and walked up to the front door, knocking on the wood. I waited with baited breath, wondering if Barry would be the one to open the door.

Sadly, I was wrong. Iris opened the door, smiling at me. "Hey, Natalie. Come on in."

Smiling back at her, I entered the house, it's familiar walls comforting me. I'd been here multiple times throughout the last nine months.

"Natalie," Joe greeted me from the dining room.

"Hey, Joe," I laid my bag and jacket on the couch before walking over to the detective. I gave him a hug, saying, "How are you?"

Joe pulled back, patting my shoulder. "I'm good, kid. Work's been keeping me busy. Haven't seen you around lately."

"Yeah, sorry about that," I apologized. I was avoiding Iris, not trying to ignore Joe. "I've been busy too."

Joe glanced behind me. "Barry, I want you to meet Natalie."

I turned around, seeing Barry coming out of the kitchen while carrying a plate of asparagus.

"We've already met," Barry said before looking at me, giving me a friendly smile. "Hi, Natalie. It's good to see you again."

"You too," I blushed slightly. He shouldn't be allowed to smile, he could kill someone with his perfect white teeth and dimples.

"Hope you're hungry," Joe told me as he sat at the head of the table.

"Starving," I smirked as I sat beside him. Barry sat across from me and Iris beside me.

Iris passed me a bowl of mashed potatoes. "Help yourself."

"You didn't make this, right?" I raised my eyebrow in worry. If you could believe it, Iris West could not, for the life of her, cook. Anything she tried to make ended up catching on fire most of the time.

Joe laughed, shaking his head.

Iris rolled her eyes. "Ha ha. No, my dad cooked. I was forbidden to enter the kitchen."

I took the bowl from her, saying, "Do you blame him? After what happened last time you tried to cook?"

"You almost burned the house down, Iris," Joe stated. "I think it's safe to say, you aren't ever going to cook in this house again."
