20.

I know Dad and when he speaks about pressing charges or filing a case against someone, he's not joking. I remembered how our relationship with the Marcaydas was ruined when he filed multiple charges against Daniel and it made some of the big time investors pull out from their major businesses. And that's all because of Dad. I don't even want to imagine what he might do to Kade given what he has done to me and to my family. And I understand he has every right to get mad at him but I also wanted them to understand that he still wanted to protect me.

"Yes, Sir?"

"Ano po?! Pero paano'ng nangyari?" Marco is frowning so hard while on the phone.

May problema ulit?

He then took a deep breath and slowly nodded.

"Copy on that, Sir. Diretso na po kami sa ospital." He ended the call shortly after that.

"What's the matter?"

Nalingon niya ako at parang ayaw na naman niyang sabihin sa akin yung problema dahil ang tagal niyang sumagot. "Natakasan sila nung leader ng sindikato, kasama yung ilang tauhan niya."

What. The. Hell!

"But how? I saw you handcuffed them before we left, right? What happened?"

I saw Marco's jaw clenched and he's obviously pissed off with the news. Paano'ng nakatakas sila? I'm sure marami namang police ang nagbabantay sa kanila pero bakit nakatakas pa rin?

"Hindi nagbigay ng eksaktong details yung chief namin pero napadali dahil may sasakyan na silang gamit. Kailangan niyong makauwi agad pagkagaling sa ospital."

I still don't know why we're chased by that syndicate but I know we're in danger. My family and I are in danger.

"Do you have any idea why they're after us?"

"It's best to ask your parents about it. I'm not in the position to tell the reason behind Rivero's goal to kill all of you."

I took a deep breath. And I remember how my Mom was fighting those guys attacking her and Dad is not even surprised.

"You can wear this." I turned to Marco and he handed me his jacket after I got out of the car. I'm not sure if he's really this bossy or he's just concerned and he doesn't want me to catch a cold but I accepted his jacket and wore it before going inside the hospital. I hurriedly went up and found the room where my parents are.

"Are they okay? I hope they're both fine specially Mom." A doctor and a nurse just came out when we arrived and I immediately approached them.

Nakahinga ako ng maluwag ng ngitian ako ng doktor. Alam kong safe ang mga magulang ko.

"Don't worry Ms. Martin, they're both okay. Aside from the stitches your Mom got and scratches, there's nothing more serious." He explained.

When I came in, I saw Dad attending to Mom and fixing her pillows. Her left arm already has a bandage and some band aids on her face.

"Kaye. " Dad turned around and he had band aids on his face too. I smiled at them but no one smiled at me. Dad is too serious, he's getting scary but still, I tightly hugged them.

"I'm just happy you're both okay."

"Were you with Marco when you came here?" It's Dad, and I can sense what's coming.

Napatango ako. "He's outside."

"Are you even thinking, Kaesley? You're not coming here yourself if I didn't ask them to get you out of that damn place and bring you here, don't you? Do you even know how you made us worried sick? God, I even think of the worst!" Kyle Joseph Martin is so mad and frustrated by the look on his face and how loud his voice is, right now. The door is closed but I'm sure the guys who are waiting outside totally hear what my father is saying.
