"The worst part of loving someone, is the day you lose them" Theo whispered to himself as he looked over the horizon, "I wish I couldn't feel a damn thing" wiping away the tears that trickled down his cheeks he tried to ignore the argument they'd had earlier, but the same question kept entering his mind, why was Liam accusing him of not loving him? They'd been through this previously and it had both destroyed them in ways neither of them realized, he couldn't go back through that again. 

He didn't want to hurt Liam, he generally thought he was doing the right thing and look where that had got him . . . maybe he just wasn't capable of doing good things, maybe the dread doctors were right: he was a failure, not a failed experiment - just a complete and utter failure with no proper reason to exist; Liam hadn't brought him back because the pack missed him . . . Liam brought back the untrustworthy, unwanted, murdering chimera, because they wanted to use him to stop the ghost riders, they thought it would work because he'd taken Josh's power, but when he came back from wherever he'd been the power was gone, they had no reason to keep him around but for some strange and unknown reason . . . Liam fought for him, he always fought for the boy that didn't deserve it.

It felt like deja vu to him, sat in his truck overlooking the beach and horizon, he was in this exact same place last year with a similar mindset except, Corey arrived before he could do anything stupid; he wasn't going to but it was a thought that had crossed his mind within the last few minutes. Theo knew he shouldn't be sat up there wallowing in self pity when Liam was somewhere just waiting for Jay to get to him, and when that time comes they all knew nobody would be able to find him, not this time. 

Liam:
Have you guys heard from Theo, he didn't come home after leaving me behind at the school?

Stiles:
I'm not surprised, heard your argument was pretty intense

Malia:
Are you serious? We told you not to mention it!

Liam:
It's fine Malia, I thought he'd be back by now, yanno.
You guys don't think he's done something stupid this time, do you?

Derek:
I'm sure he's okay, maybe he just wants to drive around and clear his head

Kira:
Derek's right Li, if he's not back by the time you get home from school tomorrow we'll search him out

Liam:
What if he leaves Beacon Hills and never comes back.
I can't lose him guys and I know you'll never properly understand how much I care about him because of all the things he's done, but for the first time since Hayden I'm genuinely happy, everyday with him is a blessing

Scott:
Your acting as though he's dead

Corey:
Do you forgive us from hiding the truth from you?

Liam:
Yeah, I guess.

Theo is typing . . . 

Liam:
Theo, are you okay?
You had us worried

Stiles
Theo?

Theo has left the chat.

They all thought he just needed some time to cool off after the argument, maybe he was going to spend the night in his truck like he'd done previously before somehow getting a house, Liam tossed and turned in bed not able to catch an ounce of sleep; he was nervous to be alone and the only thing that stopped him from completely panicking was Theo's scent on the right side of the bed they shared, hugging Theo's pillow close to his chest all the young Beta could do was hope that his partner was okay, chuckling lightly he whispered to himself, "who'd want to fight a wolf."

The pack agreed they would search for Theo if he wasn't back by the time Liam finished school, he tried not to think about all the different scenarios that could play out, the chimera wasn't weak - not by any means but he had certainly softened since being around Liam for such a long period of time: the way he cared about people and wanted to help them even if he thought they didn't deserve it, (when Stiles sprained his ankle) Theo knew the boy hated him at the time but still carried him all the way to the hospital to get seen to by Melissa McCall.

Or the time he'd risked his life coming back to the hospital to save Liam, they both vouched that day that they wouldn't die for one another and to this day it still stands or so Liam thought - their goal was to live for one another.

There were so many instances to prove the change in Theo that Liam worried he wouldn't know what to do if danger came his way, he was no longer worried about himself anymore.
