Welp, time for some boring stories! :D

A few days ago, I started playing through Super Mario Odyssey. (GOSH that's hard to spell for some reason XD) I'd seen Naydra play through it a few years ago, but never actually played it myself save for being the most annoying player two in the world. RIP Naydra XD

Anyway, this playthrough has taught me a lot about how I play games in general. Mostly how I choose to avoid the intended path for as long as I can. XD

The first example of this was the first few seconds of the game. I watched the intro cutscene and watched Mario get his butt kicked, then was finally able to control him once he fell to the Cap Kingdom. And can any of you guess what the first thing I did was?

Found out how to long-jump.

And what did I do with that information?

Long-jumped off a cliff by complete accident. XD

Yeah... have I mentioned that cliffs are my worst enemy in any video game ever?

Anyway, after respawning, I rolled around a bit (literally - the roll mechanic was the very next thing I tried to do after running) before finally chasing after Cappy like I was supposed to. The next ten minutes were spent lighting all the lamps in the area, even though it did nothing except make the place brighter and give me satisfaction. Naydra was silently dying, watching me wandering around and doing literally everything BUT the main story. Eventually, I went to Cascade Kingdom and started my adventure in full.

And OH BOI that music! :D

There wasn't too much random stuff I did there, except for making the T-rex charge right off the cliff. However, the Sand Kingdom (my personal favorite!) was a completely different story. It's probably the biggest kingdom in the game, according to Naydra, and most of it is open sand to run around in.

The moment we touched down in the Sand Kingdom, I took off rolling on the dunes. If this tells you exactly how distracted I got, I ended up collecting enough Power Moons to move on from the Sand Kingdom entirely...before going anywhere near the desert town I was supposed to go to. I even found the Jaxi early, by sheer luck. Naydra hopped in as player two and promptly began destroying my record of "most annoying player two."

Love you too, Naydra. :')

FINALLY! The last story! If you've read this far, I am very impressed. Have a virtual cookie. *gives cookie*

There's a few pools of poisonous stuff around the desert, easily identifiable by their purple hue. I came across one of these pools, and found an NPC beside it who was warning me to stay away from the poison.

I looked him dead in the eye, and shouted at the top of my lungs:

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO."

...before rolling right in.

Yeah, I died. XD
