My head is spinning. I'm sitting on the floor, legs crossed. My head is filled with thoughts.
'The future is darker than I thought.'
Chitauri, they're everywhere. There's a man standing tall over it all. I can't tell exactly who it is, but I see a bunch of people fighting off the Chitauri as well. I can't tell if this ends well or not. I ground myself, opening my eyes. I stand up quickly, looking around my cell and grabbing my arm band. I needed it to walk around the SHIELD agency. I walk out, and walk towards Director Fury's office. I knock, finding Agent Hill there instead.
"Hi, I'm looking for Fury?"
"Oh, is something wrong?" She asks. She was probably the only one who didn't see me as a bad person. She's known about my future vision longer than Fury has. She must've suspected something about the future.
"I can't tell." Her face gets stern and motions for me to follow her, us walking swiftly to the underground facility, where we're keeping the Tesseract. The Tesseract was found in the ocean, where we also found the famous Captain America. It's power is greater than I've ever seen, and trust me, I've seen way more than the human mind can comprehend. Dr. Selvik has been saying that it's "misbehaving." Maybe this has something to do with the future. We walk over to Fury, seeing Clint Barton, one the best SHIELD agents there are next to Natasha Romanoff, standing next to him. They both looked over at me.
"Ms. Galactica, welcome. The only thing I fear right now is that this welcome won't be as warm as I hope."
"Well, I don't really know. I've never seen something so determined before."
"Care to tell us?" Fury asks. I open my mouth to say something, but a strong force in my mind closes it again.
'Don't.'
'The ending will change.'
'Something bad might happen.'
The voices echo in my mind before I start speaking, "I can't."
Barton looks at me, confused. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"I just can't."
Fury doesn't push me further. Barton gives me a skeptical look, and I look back apologetically. Before I could actually apologize, a power surges through me, sending me to stumble slightly as Agent Hill steadies me.
"It's happening." I said simply, pointing to an empty space behind the Tesseract's resting place. The Tesseract started fizzing out, and I forced the team back before turning back, seeing a strong power shoot out of the Tesseract, creating a portal. A mist covers the room, and as it clears, a man is seen crouching down with a large staff, the jewel blue, and that seemed to hold a strong power as well. He lifts his head, giving a sadistic smile before narrowing his eyes at me.
'That's him.'
'He is the one leading the Chitauri.'
I feel my hands tremble slightly as I regain all my confidence again.
"Sir, please, put down the spear!" Fury shouts behind me. I look over at him, then at Barton.
'He will be mind controlled by the spear.'
'You will not interfere, or the ending will change.'
I exhale heavily, looking back at the mysterious man, seeing him look down at his spear, then sending a strong blast towards us. My eyes widen as I push them out of the way, and dodge the blast quickly. Everyone grabs their guns and starts to fire at the man, who is shooting back. The bullets seem to be doing nothing. After most of the men seem to be on the ground, Clint runs over to him trying to pin him down and take the spear. The man, seemingly more stronger than him, pins him up against a bar.
He breathes heavily, saying, "You have a heart."
He presses the spear's tip against his chest making his eyes go black, then fade to a bright blue. The man looks pleased, turning around and doing it to another SHIELD agent. I turn to see Fury packing up the Tesseract in a briefcase. I ran over to him, grabbing it and helping him.
'You won't get away with it.'
"Please don't. I still need that." I turn to see him looking at us. I hold the briefcase tight and stand.
"Well, do you mind telling us who you are? I believe introductions are very popular these days." I sass. He growls slightly.
"I am Loki, of Asgard. And I am burdened with glorious purpose."
"Loki? Brother of Thor?" Dr. Selvik questions. I've definitely heard that name before. Loki, god of mischief. A prince of Asgard, and the adopted son of Odin, his real father being Laufey, ruler of the Frost Giants. Thor is his brother, and I'm going to assume they have the stereotypical love-hate relationship with each other. Loki rolls his eyes.
"We have no quarrel with your people." Fury shoots back.
"An ant has no quarrel with a boot."
"Are you planning to step on us?"
'He's going to get away with the Tesseract.'
'Agent Hill and Director Fury will be fine.'
"I come with glad tidings."
"And what might that be?" I ask.
"Of a world made free."
"Free from what?" Fury questions sharply.
"Freedom." Loki says as I whisper it under my breath so no one hears. "Freedom is life's great lie. Once you accept that, in your heart."
He turns on his heel and mind controls Dr. Selvik as well, "you will know peace."
"Yeah, you say peace." I feel strength grow behind me as the power surges and gets larger and larger. "I kinda think you mean the other thing."
"Sir, Director Fury is stalling." Barton says walking up to Loki, "this place's about to blow, it'll drop 100 feet of rock on us. He means to bury us."
"Like the pharaohs of old." Fury comments. I look around seeing this hypnotized group peer over at the briefcase I carry. I grip my hand tighter around it.
'You won't get away with it, trust us.'
'We're here to help, we promise.'
The voices sounded sincere, like some old friends offering advice. I'll make sure that it gets to them, but I won't go down without a fight.
"Well then." Loki says after Selvik explains how the portal's collapsing on itself, sending Barton to shoot his pistol. I nudged Fury out of the way and stepped in front of the bullet, grabbing it between my thumb and index finger. It burned slightly, but nothing I couldn't handle. Loki looked at me with a hint of amusement. He nodded to Barton and he charged at me. I dropped the bullet and dodged Clint's attacks. But he was too fast for me, grabbing the briefcase and pushing me to the ground. They walked away swiftly, grabbing a car and driving off.
"Hill, Fury, come on, we have to go!"
"But they're getting away!" Hill exclaims.
I turned to look at them, holding my hands out, "Do you trust me?"
They both looked over at each other and placed their hands in mine. I summoned a portal, leading us to the roof, and we dropped in, steadying ourselves after and running at a helicopter that Fury got for us. We jumped on, barely escaping the wreckage, and flew towards the car.
"Fury! Give it up!" I yelled, knowing how stubborn Fury was.
"I'm not letting them get away!"
In the end, we ended up on the ground and with no Tesseract in sight.
