Chapter 8

It had been three hours since Wolffe had locked himself in his private quarters. Every attempt that the wolfpack tried, to get him out, had failed. Boost had asked to spar, which Wolffe had answered with a no. Sinker had asked if Wolffe wanted to go terrorize shinies together, which Wolffe had also said no. Warthog had simply asked if Wolffe wanted to go and get something to eat at the mess hall. Wolffe had responded, 'Leave me alone. All of you.'

It was now Comet's turn to try and get Wolffe out from his quarters. The pup always managed to get Wolffe away from his miserable self from time to time. Comet shuffled over to the door with a blanket across his shoulders. Comet loved to cuddle, he sought comfort from it. He thought it'd be a good idea to ask Wolffe to cuddle with him and talk about what was bothering him. 

He knocked on the door softly. "Wolffe? Can I come in so we can cuddle and talk about why your upset? Please? I can help you." Comet asked with a hopeful look on his face. He stepped back when the door opened revealing a crying and very upset Wolffe. Wolffe didn't say anything, not until after Comet launched himself at Wolffe, and hugged him tightly. 

"I don't want to talk about it. Now leave me alone. I know what you guys are trying to do, okay? I just want to be left alone." Wolffe said prying himself out of Comet's arms and locking himself in his quarters again. Comet felt rejected. He slid down to the floor, wrapping his blanket closer to himself, and blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall.

On the other side of the door was Wolffe, burying his head under his pillow. He knew that he should be comforting Comet from what had happened earlier that day. He just couldn't seem to get out of bed and stop being miserable. He felt bad for denying Comet but Wolffe hated talking about his feelings. He was never good at that stuff and he thought he would never be good at it. 

Wolffe sighed. He decided to do some work on his datapad. Wolffe always got things off his mind when he worked. The only problem was that he left his datapad on the desk in the other room. If he walked out his brothers would pester him and Wolffe did not want that. He just wanted to be left alone. Wolffe walked over to the door, hesitated, and then opened it.

Comet was rolling around the floor in his blanket when Wolffe came out of his private quarters. Wolffe looked over at Comet amused, and then frowned, and walked over to his desk. He grabbed his datapad and was about to go back to his private quarters when Comet grabbed his arm. 

"Wolffe, stay. We don't have to talk about what happened. Just stay with us." Comet pleaded as he gestured towards Boost, Sinker, and Warthog.

"I can't. I have work to do." Wolffe said emotionless and pushed away Comet's hand. He walked back into his quarters, making sure the door was locked.

"Maybe he'll come back after he finishes his work?" Boost offered. He held up Echo's feathered covered regulation manual he had just finished. "Done!" he exclaimed.

Comet laughed and went back to rolling on the floor. "I'm a comet in a burrito!" he yelled. He rolled into Boost and laughed again.

Sinker shook his head but he was grinning. He was just glad the little pup was happy despite what happened earlier. "Oh no! Watch out, don't get rolled over by the burrito boy!"

"Burrito boy?" Comet laughed. "I'M A BURRITO BOY! WATCH OUT FOR ME!!!!"

Wolffe heard Comet laughing from the other room. He was glad that the pup was happy. "If only I was in there." he sighed. Wolffe wondered if Comet hated him now because he was ignoring him. Wolffe decided to do something to make it up to Comet. He didn't know what but he would figure it out. He thought and thought for a while and then he came up with a great idea! He decided to take the wolfpack on leave to Naboo. He would ask the general if he could. He thought of what he could for Comet if they were allowed to go to Naboo.

He began to think of a plan...
