It had been a hard mission and they had just got back to Coruscant.  The 104th battalion had been dispatched on a mission to the Outer Rim after being stationed on Coruscant for two months. Asajj Ventress had been there, resulting in many casualties of the clones, until finally being defeated by Plo Koon. They had taken over the Separatists outpost while Ventress fled off of the system.

The Wolfpack, led by Commander Wolffe, had been given the task to see who was dead or injured.  Wolffe, Sinker, Boost, and Warthog had been startled to see Scorpion, the youngest of the pack, dead with his leg torn off with a blaster bolt to his chest lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

Scorpion had joined the Wolfpack after being shipped off from Kamino, and he had joined them while the 104th battalion had been stationed on Coruscant for two months. He was still a young shiny, who's first mission was the one that he'd died on. The Wolfpack had immediately taken a liking to Scorpion, and they had allowed him to paint his armor the day that he arrived on Coruscant. Wolffe had loved that Scorpion was energetic, excited, curious and that he wasn't scared of Wolffe like all of the other shinies were when they first met their commander. Sinker loved that he found someone that could help prank his brothers with. Boost loved how Scorpion was different from all the other shinies that had no idea what they were doing when they had gotten shipped off of Kamino.

When they had first met Scorpion he had asked all kinds of questions about Coruscant and other systems, and everything that he didn't know about when he was on Kamino. They had taken him to the 79's bar and his face lit up with joy when he took a sip from his first beer. They didn't have alcoholic beverages on Kamino. He had gotten a hangover the next day and they had laughed. He thought he was going to die because his head hurt so much. Scorpion had told them that he had gotten his name because he loved scorpions even though he'd never seen one before. Scorpion had loved Plo Koon and had always asked what it was like to be a Jedi. He had asked if Plo Koon had ever seen a scorpion and when he said yes Scorpion had asked a billion questions about them. He had been overjoyed when the Jedi had told Scorpion that if he found one on their next mission, he could take it back to Coruscant and keep it as a pet.

Scorpion had a nightmare one night and the Wolfpack's hearts had practically melted when Scorpion had asked if he could cuddle with them. That's when the pack pile was invented. Every night, they would curl up around the youngest member of the pack and fall asleep in a mess of blankets and pillows.

Scorpion had been a mess the night before their mission to the Outer Rim. He was scared and he had been pacing around their quarters. He was scared he was going to die on his first mission. The Wolfpack had never seen Scorpion so worried or scared before, it hurt them to see him like this. They had told him that if he found a scorpion he could keep it and that cheered him up a bit. Wolffe had reassured him that they wouldn't let him die and he would protect him no matter what. Sinker told Scorpion he wouldn't die, not on their watch. Boost told him to stay near them and everything would be okay. Scorpion had calmed down and they fell asleep in the Wolfpack pile.

Earlier that morning Scorpion had woken them up and he was excited about his first mission. Mostly because he was going to find a scorpion and keep it. As the 104th battalion got closer to the Outer Rim, Scorpion started to get nervous again. They reassured him everything would be fine and that before he knew it, he'd be back on Coruscant with a pet scorpion.  Sometime in the middle of a battle, Scorpion had gotten lost and he was out of the protection of his pack. He had decided to hide, and when he did he found a scorpion. He was happy and he picked it up, not caring if it was poisonous or not, and named it Scorpio. He was so happy that he didn't notice the Commando Droid behind him. When Scorpion finally noticed it was too late. He had jumped up in fear, accidentally killing his scorpion, and started blasting at the Commando Droid. The Commando Droid had ignored the shots and tore off Scorpion's leg in one quick movement. Scorpion was too far away from the Wolfpack and the 104th battalion, that no one heard his screams of pain and shouting for help. The Commando Droid shot Scorpion in the chest and he left to go kill more clones. Scorpion whimpered in pain until he died of blood loss.

It wasn't until long after the Wolfpack found him lying in a pool of his own blood with a blaster bolt in his chest and his leg ripped off. They saw a dead scorpion near him and they were happy knowing that Scorpion had seen a scorpion before he died. They, however, were heartbroken and a piece of them had died along with Scorpion. They were all upset and they wished Scorpion was still alive.

The Wolfpack had cried themselves to sleep that night. They slept in their separate beds because it would be too weird and only bring more pain if they slept in a pile without Scorpion.

Wolffe felt guilty and he hated himself knowing that he failed to keep Scorpion alive. He had promised to take care of him and that nothing would happen to him. He had taken Scorpion's helmet with him back to Coruscant to honor his fallen brother. Wolffe promised himself he would never get close to a shiny ever again and he'd never let another person in his pack again, especially if it were a shiny.
